The Blue Jackets have acquired Jordan Harris from the Canadiens for Patrik Laine and a 2026 2nd Round Pick.

Patrik Laine's offseason saga comes to an end after he was traded to Montreal on Monday alongside a 2026 2nd-round pick for Jordan Harris. Harris heads to Columbus after three strong seasons in Montreal and has eight goals and 32 points in 131 career games played. The 24-year-old was Montreal's 2018 3rd-round pick (71st overall).

Harris (upper body) will return to Montreal's lineup on Wednesday vs. Buffalo.

Harris will return to the lineup from a three-game absence due to an upper-body injury. He was limited to only 1:34 time-on-ice before exiting the Canadiens' February 11th matchup against the St. Louis Blues. Johnathan Kovacevic will be the odd man out of the lineup to make room for Harris.

Harris has not played since November 18th, missing 15 straight games, and is eligible and expected to return to the lineup on Thursday after being activated from IR. The 23-year Harris was averaging 18:45 time-on-ice and had three points (0G / 3A) through 16 games this season.

Harris joins the Canadiens' already lengthy list of injured players as it was announced Tuesday that he would be out indefinitely with a lower-body injury. The 23-year-old defensive defenseman has yet to find the back of the net this season with no goals, three assists, 12 SOG, eight PIMs, and a -7 plus/minus in 16 games prior to his injury.
