Staal underwent a surgical procedure for an infection in his ankle; will be re-evaluated in two weeks.

Staal returned to the lineup for the last two games but will miss at least two weeks after undergoing a procedure on his ankle. Brady Skjei will replace Staal on Sunday if he is healthy enough to play.

Staal will be back in the Rangers lineup on Wednesday.

Staal was a healthy scratch for the last three games but will replace Ryan Lindgren in the lineup on Wednesday. Staal, who has a career-high of just 29 points (2010-11), doesn't bring any offence to the table at this point in his career, collecting just one goal in his first nine games of the 2019-20 season.

Staal will come out of the Rangers lineup on Saturday.

Staal has been battling an illness as of late and will not play Saturday vs. the Devils. Head coach David Quinn said that Staal is feeling better but probably shouldn’t have played in the last two games, so he will get the night off and Kevin Shattenkirk will replace him on the blueline.

Staal was slammed into the boards by Alexei Emelin on Saturday after left the game and did not return. Unlike his teammate Jimmy Vesey, Staal was not ruled out for tonight's game until this morning, which bodes well for his chances of playing Wednesday. Monitor his status accordingly.

Staal left Tuesday’s game with a hip flexor injury and did not return.

Staal departed the game early in the third period after playing 14:09 and did not return. “We’ll know more Wednesday,” head coach Alain Vigneault said post-game as he did not have an update on the veteran defenseman. It doesn’t sound like injury is overly serious, but he should be considered questionable for Thursday’s game vs. the Sabres.

Staal (concussion) will return to the Rangers lineup on Tuesday.

Staal has been out with a concussion since January 3rd, but will be back in the lineup tonight vs. the Blue Jackets. Staal has just three goals and three assists (six points) in 40 games this season and will replace Adam Clendening in the lineup.

Staal continues to make progress in his return from a concussion, that has kept him out of the lineup for the last five games. Staal remains questionable for Thursday’s game in Toronto, but could be back Sunday in Detroit.
