Callahan will draw in for Jordan Oesterle, who is a healthy scratch. Callahan was a fifth-round pick of the Coyotes in the 2018 NHL Entry Draft and has spent the last four seasons in the Bruins organization. He has one goal and five assists in 35 AHL games this season.

With Charlie McAvoy (undisclosed) sidelined, Boston has recalled Callahan from the Providence Bruins (AHL). The 25-year-old defenseman has yet to play an NHL game. He has six points (1G / 5A) in 35 games with Providence in the AHL this season.

Boston signed a pair of AHL defenders on Friday as it announced Michael Callahan has signed a one-year, two-way contract extension to remain with the Bruins. The 24-year-old has yet to make an NHL appearance after spending the previous two seasons with Providence (AHL) after joining from Providence College (NCAA) in 2021-22. In 70 games in 2023-24 he had four goals and 17 points.
