Paul Stastny News
Paul Stastny is returning to the lineup Wednesday night

Stastny injured his left foot blocking a shot Mar. 24 against Vancouver and the injury has lingered beyond the initial 10-day prognosis. His 19 points in 31 games placed him third on the team in scoring. He missed eight games, the same number Jones had missed after sustaining a knee injury. A longer than expected absence has been especially tough as his club dropped seven of eight games.

Center Paul Stastny (ankle) will resume practicing with the team Tuesday and is likely to go on the two-game Southern California road trip.

Stastny has been a below average fantasy center for most of the season and with the current state of the Avs, shouldn't be counted on unless you are in a deep league.

Avs center Paul Stastny (ankle) took part in the morning skate Monday, but won't play. He is slated to practice Tuesday, and could play Wednesday or Thursday in Southern California.

Colorado Avalanche center Paul Stastny will be out about 10 days with a bruised left foot, the team said Monday.

Stastny suffered the injury Sunday night against Vancouver, after blocking a slap shot from the Canucks' Jason Garrison. Stastny had not missed a game previously this season.

Paul Stastny did not practice with the team today, but skated on his own beforehand. I’d say that makes it seem doubtful he’ll return Tuesday, but we’ll see what tomorrow brings.

Hard to include Stastny in this week's plans. Stay tuned for a further update from the team.

CALGARY — The Avalanche is practicing right now at the Scotiabank Saddledome and defenseman Ryan Wilson and center Paul Stastny aren’t participating. Stastny skated with the team before Tuesday’s 6-0 loss at Vancouver but missed his first game of the season with the torso injury he sustained in Sunday’s 4-2 win over Detroit.

Stastny not practicing is likely a sign that he will not be able to play in the team's next game. The second-generation center has eight goals and 15 points in 27 games but has disappointed both fans and fantasy hockey owners.

Center Paul Stastny suffered what the team is calling a torso injury. I didn’t see him go down, but it was in the third period

Perhaps injury is to blame for Stastny's inconsistent play. The playmaking center has only mustered eight goals and seven assists through 15 games. Expect a further word on his status later today.

Paul Stastny, who I think has looked reasonably good in camp so far. Better quickness with the puck, mostly in his decision-making. Hockey is such a give-and-go game now, and I think he’s gotten better at moving the puck faster.

Stastny will need to step up for his team to re-enter the playoff picture. Coming off a poor year by his standards, the second-generation center scored 22 goals and 57 points. If on his game he can easily add 60 assists to his annual 20+ goals.
