The Predators have had a COVID-19 outbreak, so Grimaldi is part of the reinforcements coming up from Milwaukee. Grimaldi has eight goals and five assists (13 points) in 14 AHL games this season.
Grimaldi was not in the lineup on Saturday but will replace Yakov Trenin, who was sent back to the AHL, on Tuesday. Grimaldi has two assists in five games this season.
Grimaldi has missed the last two games with a lower-body injury but was back on the fourth line at Monday’s practice and waiving Daniel Carr is a good sign that Grimaldi will play Tuesday. He has one assist and seven shots in three games this season.
Grimaldi was absent from the morning skate on Thursday and head coach Peter Laviolette listed him as a game-time decision. Daniel Carr skated in his spot on the third line and will replace him in Grimaldi is unable to go.
Grimaldi had 13 points (5G / 8A) in 53 games with the Predators before adding three goals in five playoff games. The diminutive forward should open 2020 in the Predators’ bottom-6 after a solid showing in the second-half of 2019.

Grimaldi picked up one goal and two assists in five games with the Avalanche during his call-up, but he will swap placed with Vladislav Kamenev and head back to San Antonio and await another opportunity.
