Anaheim has signed Sam Colangelo to a two-year, two-way contract.

Colangelo concluded his rookie campaign in 2024-25 with 10 goals and 12 points in just 32 games played and has earned himself a two-year, two-way contract extension, announced on Monday. The 23-year-old was Anaheim's 2020 2nd-round pick (36th overall) and is expected to play a key depth role for the Ducks this upcoming season.

Colangelo (upper-body) will return to Anaheim's lineup vs. Boston on Wednesday.

Colangelo has not played since March 12th due to an upper-body injury, but will return to the lineup on Wednesday against the Boston Bruins. The 23-year-old forward is averaging 11:39 time-on-ice and has seven points (6G / 1A) in 20 games this season.

Colangelo has been recalled from San Diego (AHL).

Colangelo was the 36th overall pick of the Ducks in the 2020 NHL Entry Draft. The 23-year-old forward played 12 games with the Ducks earlier this season, scoring one goal, but has spent most of the 2024-25 campaign in the AHL, tallying 35 points (19G / 16A) in 38 games with the San Diego Gulls.

Moments after being named to the AHL All-Star game, the Ducks recalled Colangelo from the San Diego Gulls (AHL). The 23-year-old forward was the 36th overall pick of the Ducks in the 2020 NHL Entry Draft. He went scoreless in eight games with the Ducks earlier this season but has been productive after the AHL level, scoring 22 points (13G / 9A) in 24 contests.

Colangelo was sent down in order to make room on the roster for Robby Fabbri, who was surprisingly activated from injured reserve as he is set to return against the Maple Leafs on Thursday. Colangelo is yet to register a point in eight NHL games this season.
