Prince has not played since January 18th, but has worked his way back to play the final couple games of the regular season. Prince has recorded one goal and one assist in just 12 games so far this season.
Prince will miss his fifth straight game with an undisclosed injury and his move to IR opens up a roster spot for Andrew Ladd to return to the Islanders lineup in Toronto.

Prince, 23, was acquired from Ottawa at the trade deadline and had five points (3G / 2A) in 20 games with the Islanders to go wit the 12 points (3G / 9A) he had with the Senators before the trade. He is destined for a bottom-6 role with the Islanders again in 2016-17.
Prince has just one goal in 11:52 TOI/AVG in 11 games since being acquired from the Senators at the trade deadline. Prince will be replaced by Steve Bernier.
