Mason will make his first start since November 25th, a game in which he suffered a _ injury after stopping 11 of 13 shots in the first period. He started the season off slow, but stopped 118 of 124 shots (.952 SV%) in his five appearances before getting hurt. He draws a rough matchup in St. Louis and has gone 2-2-1 with a 2.55 GAA and .929 SV% on the road this season.

Mason has missed the last seven games with a concussion but will return as Connor Hellebuyck’s backup on Monday. Prior to getting hurt Mason was playing his best hockey of the season, stopping 78 of the last 82 shots (.951 SV%) that he faced. The Jets have a back-to-back coming up this weekend, so Mason should get at least one of the next three games.

Mason left Saturday’s start with an upper-body injury and was placed on IR on Monday to make room for the Jets to recall Eric Comrie, who figures to serve as Connor Hellebuyck’s backup on Monday. Mason’s movement to IR means that he will have to miss at least the next three games.

Mason stopped 29 of 30 shots in the Jets’ win in Arizona on November 11th. Mason has started five games with one relief appearance this season—going 1-3-1 with a 3.76 GAA and .892 SV%. Tonight he will start for the first time in 11 days and he will face a Kings team that has lost five of their last six games.
