Killorn took a spill in practice this morning, but head coach Jon Cooper said that he was fine and just got the wind knocked out of him and would play tonight. Well, it turns out that was not the case. He is out, Jonathan Drouin will make his NHL debut.
Gudas will miss his third straight game tonight in Edmonton. The Lightning just lost Victor Hedman to a fractured finger so their blueline is pretty banged up right now. Gudas is expected to miss Tuesday's game as well, but could be back on Friday vs. the Jets.

He will take on the Islanders who are averaging a robust 5.00 goals per game in their first three games.
After Antti Niemi allowed five goals on 34 shots in the Sharks shootout win over the Capitals on Tuesday, the Sharks will likely go back to Stalock tonight on Long Island. Gudas is not on the ice for warmups so he will not play tonight. He will be replaced by Andrej Sustr. No word if he is dealing with an injury or just being rested.

Leaving the ice first while the other netminder stays on for extra work is typically an indicator of the next day's starter. Niemi is coming off of a shutout on opening night vs. Los Angeles, but it looks like the Sharks want to get Stalock some work early on. Keep an eye on the Sharks morning skate when the starting picture will become more clear.
The Sharks are starting Antti Niemi in the season opener tonight, but coach McLellan stressed that Stalock is going to play a lot this season. "Nemo has a proven track record. And so will Nemo." Each goalie played in three exhibition games. Stalock was 2-1 with a 1.68 GAA and a .915 SV%; Niemi was 0-1-2 with a 2.23 GAA and a .909 SV%.

The speedy winger registered 17 goals and 20 assists (37 points) and a plus-14 rating in 66 games in his first full NHL season. He will likely play on the top line with Derek Stepan and Rick Nash again this season, which makes him a 25-goal candidate this season.
