Petr Mrazek was in the starter's crease at Chicago's morning skate.

Mrazek will likely return to the crease on Friday, his third straight start, being rewarded for a heroic performance in their last game. On Tuesday, Mrazek was sensational, saving 35 of 37 shots (.946 SV%), holding down the fort and shutting down the Colorado Avalanche en route to a 3-2 victory. Mrazek has fared well this season for the league's fourth-worst defensive team (3.55 GA / GP), posting a 3.04 GAA and .909 SV% through 20 appearances while tallying a respectable .556 quality start percentage. In a rare occurrence on Friday, the Blackhawks are slight -110 home favourites against a Montreal Canadiens team that played last night, losing 4-3 to the Minnesota Wild in overtime.

McTavish (upper-body) will return to the Ducks' lineup on Thursday.

McTavish has missed the last seven games for the Ducks but will return to action on Thursday against the Calgary Flames. Before his injury, McTavish was held without a point in four straight games, recording a -7 plus/minus and six shots on goal.

Mason McTavish
Mason McTavish (upper body) is probable to return to the Ducks lineup Thursday vs. Calgary.

Lukas Dostal will start Thursday vs. Calgary.

Dostal will start for the third time in the last four games for the Ducks and look for his second consecutive victory. After a midseason stretch with limited action, posting a .787 SV% in three games (0-3-0), Dostal has played significantly better lately, posting a .915 SV% across his last four appearances (1-2-0). The Ducks are sizeable +176 home underdogs on Thursday against the Calgary Flames, who have collected at least a point in four straight games (2-0-2).

Lukas Dostal
Calle Clang has been reassigned to San Diego (AHL).

Clang did not appear during his very brief stint with the Ducks and will head back to San Diego as Alex Stallock replaces him as John Gibson's (personal) placeholder for the time being. The 21-year-old Clang returns to the Gulls, where he struggled early in the season with his 2-7-2 record, .882 SV% and 3.76 GAA.

Alex Stalock has been recalled from San Diego (AHL).

John Gibson (personal) remains away from the team due to the birth of his child so Alex Stalock has been recalled from San Diego (AHL) to be his placeholder in the meantime. The 36-year-old has struggled in the minors this season, with his 1-4-1 record, 3.78 GAA and .893 SV%.

Alex Stalock
Mrazek will start against the Avalanche on Tuesday.

Mrazek will likely on Tuesday, giving him consecutive starts for the second time in the last two wakes, a rare occurrence in what has been a season mostly consisting of an equal rotation between Mrazek and Arvid Soderblom. Mrazek has played well for the bottom-dwelling Blackhawks this season, posting a 3.10 GAA and .907 SV% in 19 games (7-10-0), but has allowed four goals in each of his last two starts (0-2-0), posting a .867 SV%. As they are most nights, the Blackhawks are sizeable underdogs (+215) as they host the Colorado Avalanche, a team that defeated them 4-0 in their last meeting.

Dostal will start in Detroit on Monday.

Dostal will get the nod in Detroit on Monday as starter John Gibson is away from the team due to the impending birth of his child. It will be Dostal's second appearance in as many nights after he relieved Gibson on Sunday in New Jersey as the latter dealt with dehydration. Dostal stopped all ten shots he faced in relief as he helped the Ducks cruise to an unexpected 5-1 victory over the Devils. Dostal will be looking to build on last night's performance on Monday and improve on his underwhelming .887 SV% and 3.93 GAA.

Lukas Dostal
Carlsson will draw back into the Ducks' lineup on Monday.

Carlsson sat out Sunday's game in New Jersey as the Ducks continue to take a cautious approach with his workload and avoid playing him on back-to-back nights. The 2023 second-overall pick has eight goals and six assists across the first 21 games of his NHL career.

Leo Carlsson
Calle Clang has been recalled from San Diego (AHL).

Clang was the 77th overall pick of the Ducks in the 2020 NHL Entry Draft and has a 3.76 GAA and .882 SV% in 12 games (2-7-2) with the San Diego Gulls of the AHL this season. John Gibson exited Sunday's contest against the New Jersey Devils in the second period and might be unable to suit up on Monday against the Detroit Red Wings, meaning Clang would likely serve as the backup to Lukas Dostal.

Calle Clang
Mason McTavish (upper body) will be out Friday vs. the Rangers after originally having a chance to dress.

McTavish has missed the last five games for the Ducks but appears to be nearing a return, but it will not be Friday after he was seen skating earlier in the day. Before his injury, McTavish was held without a point in four straight games, recording a -7 plus/minus and six shots on goal.

Mason McTavish
Lukas Dostal will start Friday vs. the New York Rangers.

Dostal played well in his last contest, a 24-save (.960 SV%) performance in a 1-0 loss to the Chicago Blackhawks on December 7th, his only start since November 26th. Dostal was seeing a heavy workload to start the season, but a three-game stretch where he allowed at least five goals (0-3-0), posting a .787 SV%, limited him to strictly backup duties. Another strong performance from Dostal could lead to him seeing more action again, but he will be hard-pressed to do so on Friday as the Ducks are +268 road underdogs against the New York Rangers.

Lukas Dostal
Petr Mrazek will start Tuesday in Edmonton.

Mrazek will start for the third time in four games on Tuesday when the Blackhawks visit the high-flying Edmonton Oilers. Mrazek has been tremendous in his last two games, saving 75 of 76 shots (.987 SV%) in victories against the St. Louis Blues and Anaheim Ducks, but will have a much more daunting task ahead of him on Tuesday. The Blackhawks are significant +387 road underdogs against an Edmonton Oilers team that has won seven straight games.
