Strome has significantly better possession numbers than Spooner, posting a 53.5 CorsiFor% and +3.2 CF% rel with the Oilers this season. However, Strome has had a really difficult time producing offence, picking up just two points (1G / 1A) in 18 games this season.

Mrazek was not available for Saturday’s game in Vegas and is listed as day-to-day with a lower-body injury. The Hurricanes are carrying three goalies, so Curtis McElhinney will backup Scott Darling on Tuesday.

He will be playing behind one of the best possession teams in hockey, so he should see less shots than he became accustom to in Detroit.

The Flyers elected not to qualify the 26-year-old, so he lands in Carolina where he will battle with Scott Darling for playing time in the crease.
