The Bruins will keep David Pastrnak past the nine-game mark.

Pastrnak appeared in his ninth game last night, and the Bruins announced that he will be sticking with the team, burning the first year of his entry-level contract. He has recorded four goals, one assist and a plus-6 rating in nine games. He is the type of game-breaking offensive talent the Bruins needed.

The Bruins have sent David Pastrnak back to Providence (AHL).

Pastrnak served as a healthy scratch in the Bruins win over Arizona on Saturday. The 2014 first round pick (25th overall) had one assist in five games during his recall. He heads back to the AHL where he has five goals and 13 assists (18 points) in 18 games.

The Hurricanes have sent Patrick Brown to Charlotte (AHL).

Brown, 22, made his NHL debut with Carolina on Opening Night, Oct. 10, and has averaged 9:37 of ice time while playing in all four of the Hurricanes’ games this season. In 2013-14, he scored 15 goals and earned 15 assists (30 points) in 40 games during his senior season at Boston College.

After Jeff Skinner was diagnosed with a concussion on Monday, the Hurricanes were in need of a winger because it is unlikely that Skinner will be ready for the Hurricanes' season opener on Friday. Brown skated on the third line with Jay McClement and Brad Malone this morning. The 22-year-old forward signed with Carolina this offseason after four years at Boston College.

On Wednesday, the Hurricanes recalled Elias Lindholm from Charlotte (AHL).

Lindholm had been reassigned to the Swedish team for the 2014 International Ice Hockey Federation’s World Junior Championship. Lindholm scored two goals and added seven assists (9 points) in six games during the tournament, helping Sweden capture the silver medal. Carolina’s first-round selection, fifth overall, in the 2013 NHL Draft, Lindholm has played 21 NHL games for Carolina this season, totaling seven points (3G / 4A).

Lindholm was with Team Sweden in Sweden for the World Junior Championships. Weather is making it difficult for him to get to Buffalo, but should he make it, he will likely be in the lineup on Tuesday. Lindholm was tied for seventh in tournament scoring with two goals and seven assists (9 points) in seven games.

Lindholm is expected to be loaned to Sweden to play in the World Junior Championships.

Hurricanes head coach Kirk Muller says they are going to sit down with Lindholm to make a final decision, but it appears as if it is a guarantee that Lindholm will join the Swedish National team on December 22. He has three goals and four assists in 21 games with Carolina.

The Carolina Hurricanes have recalled Elias Lindholm from Charlotte (AHL).

Lindholm, 18, was selected fifth overall in the 2013 NHL Draft had one goal and one assist in 10 games with the Hurricanes before being sent to Charlotte. With the Checkers he posted a goal and two assists in six games. He arrives in town to help revive Carolina's struggling power-play. They rank 28th in the NHL with a 11.9% success rate on the PP. Chris Terry has been returned to the AHL to make room for Lindholm.

Nikita Zadorov has been assigned to the London Knights (OHL).

Zadorov was the 16th overall pick in this year's NHL Entry Draft. He only played in seven games with the Sabres so the first year of his entry level contract will not be in effect this season. He heads back to London where he had six goals and 25 points in 63 games last season.

Lindholm was sent to Charlotte (AHL) on Wednesday.

Lindholm had one goal and one assist with a minus-4 rating while averaging 11:39 TOI in 10 games with the Hurricanes. He was the fifth overall pick in this year's draft. He is going to the AHL where he will see a lot more ice-time and gain some valuable experience.

Nikita Zadorov, who made his NHL debut on Saturday, will remain in the lineup tonight vs. Boston.

Zadorov was the 16th pick in this year's NHL Entry Draft, is a big, physical defenseman who loves to throw his weight around. The Sabres have nine-games to decide whether or not they want to keep Zadorov on the roster and burn the first year of his entry-level contract, or send him back to juniors. He had no points in 11:01 TOI in his NHL debut.

Lindholm has missed the last two games with an upper-body injury. The fifth overall pick in this years draft has one goal and a minus-1 rating while averaging 8:51 TOI.
