Greenway did not play on Saturday, a late scratch due to an undisclosed ailment, but was back to practice on Monday as a full participant. The 6'6, 27-year-old Greenway is off to a strong start to the 2024-25 season, posting four points (2G / 2A), seven blocks, and 19 hits in six games. Greenway draws back into the lineup on Monday and will replaced Zach Benson, who is battling a lower-body injury.

With Derek Forbort (personal) being away from the team, Vancouver has recalled Brannstrom from the Abbortsford Canucks (AHL). The 25-year-old Brannstrom was signed to a one-year contract in the offseason before being traded to the Canucks earlier this month. Brannstrom spent last season with the Ottawa Senators, tallying 20 points (3G / 17A) in 76 games.

Sheahan has decided to hang up his skates after 637 games in the NHL. The 32-year-old played with six different teams over the course of his career, most notably a seven-year stint with the Detroit Red Wings from the 2011-12 to 2017-18 season. He was a first-round selection by the Red Wings in the 2010 NHL Entry Draft and retires with 194 career points (74G / 120A).

The Sabres have alternated netminders through their first four games this season, a trend that will continue into game five when Luukkonen takes the crease against the Pittsburgh Penguins. Between Luukkonen and Devon Levi, Luukkonen has been the less impressive of the two goalies for the Sabres but was serviceable in his last outing when he saved 20 of 22 shots (.909 SV%) in a 3-1 losing effort to the Los Angeles Kings. He had an 11-8-2 record with a .904 SV% and a 3.11 GAA in 25 games played in Detroit last season. He heads to Vegas to take on the undefeated Golden Knights (2-0-0), whose offence is hot, having scored 12 goals in their first six periods of hockey.
