


Byram continues to battle an issue with his head, so he was sent back to Colorado, presumably to receive more treatment. Kurtis MacDermid will play Monday with Byram still out.

Malcolm Subban was hurt in his Sabres debut on Saturday, so Luukkonen gets recalled and could be in line for his first start of the season on Tuesday. The 22-year-old netminder has gone 6-6-0 with a 3.42 GAA and .888 SV% in 12 AHL games this season.


Byram was scratched from the lineup on Thursday and will be a game-time decision on Saturday. Monitor Bryam's status as the Avalanche hit the ice for warmups at 6:30 PM ET.

Danforth has performed pretty well in his first five NHL games, scoring one goal with 10 shots in 9:50 ATOI. He'll replace Jack Roslovic in the Blue Jackets' bottom-6 on Saturday.

Luukkonen was called-up to serve as Aaron Dell's backup on Thursday but returns to the AHL to make room for Malcolm Subban.

Luukkonen has gone 6-6-0 with a 3.42 GAA and .888 SV% in 12 games with Rochester this season. Dustin Tokarski was placed on the COVID-19 reserve list, so Luukkonen will likely back-up Aaron Dell tonight.

Bryson was scratched vs. Seattle on Monday to rest a "nagging injury" according to head coach Don Granato. Bryson, who has five assists in 21 games this season, should be back on the second defensive pairing and second power-play unit vs. the Panthers.

Danforth has been a healthy scratch for the last four games but will replace Gregory Hofmann in the lineup on Tuesday. Danforth has scored one goal in two games this season.


Tuch underwent shoulder surgery in June and his original timetable was six months. That would have him back after the Christmas break, which is a few weeks away. Tuch appears to be on schedule for a late-December or early-January debut.


The Capitals sent Axel Jonsson Fjällby to the AHL yesterday to preserve his waiver exempt status, so Malenstyn and Michael Sgarbossa come up to help replace T.J. Oshie and Conor Sheary. Malenstyn has scored one goal with two assists in 15 games this season.

Danforth has played in three straight games but will be a healthy scratch in Buffalo. Danforth has one goal on seven shots with the Blue Jackets.

Strand did not get into a game during his call-up. He returns to Ontario where he has one goal and one assist (two points) in four games.

Danforth was an undrafted free agent out of Sacred Heart University. The 28-year-old forward will skate on the fourth line with Jack Roslovic in his debut and comes up with five goals (2G / 3A) in eight AHL games.
