Stepan (fibula) is expected to start practicing i the next four-to-seven days.

Stepan has reportedly suffered no setbacks in his recovery from a fractured fibula he suffered in the preseason. The plan is to have him start practicing and activate him from longterm injured reserve next week and have him in the lineup shortly after. Everything is on schedule for Stepan which is good news for the Rangers.

Staal (upper-body) will be in the Hurricanes lineup on Tuesday.

Staal has missed the last five games with an upper-body injury but was a full participant in the last two practices and will be a go on Tuesday. This is a huge boost for the Hurricanes who 0-5-2 on the season. Staal had a goal and an assist in his first two games of the year, so he should pick up right where he left off. He will likely skate on the top line with Alex Semin and Jiri Tlusty.

Staal (upper-body) is on the ice for the Hurricanes optional skate.

Staal has been out for nearly two weeks because of an upper-body injury. The Hurricanes are taking on the Oilers tonight, but Staal is not expected to be in the lineup yet. They have three days off in between games so he will likely get the weekend off and could be back next Tuesday.

Staal (upper-body) has been placed on injured reserve.

The Hurricanes have placed Staal on IR in order to make roster room to recall Brody Sutter. Carolina played with 11 forwards and seven defensemen last night, so this move allows them to play 12 forwards until Staal is ready to return. The move is retroactive to October 11th, meaning he is eligible to be activated from IR whenever he is healthy enough to play.

Andersen was the first goalie off of the ice at the Ducks' morning skate.

Andersen stopped all 28 shots that he faced in a 3-0 win over the Blues on Sunday. The win moved him to 5-0-0 with a 1.38 GAA and .950 SV% on the season. He is off to the best start of any goalie in the NHL and is an absolute must-start tonight vs. the Sabres.

Frederik Andersen
Staal (upper-body) is skating in a no-contact jersey on Tuesday.

This is Staal's first practice with his team-mates since he suffered the upper-body injury. He will not play tonight, but is definitely nearing a return. He will need to shed that no-contact jersey tomorrow if he is going to play on Thursday or Friday.

Stastny is out week-to-week with a shoulder injury.

Stastny was injured in the Blues contest on Saturday night and will miss an extended period of time with a shoulder issue. Week-to-week is a very vague timetable, but expect him to miss at least one week and be re-evaluated after that. He had one goal and three assists in his first four games with the Blues.
