

Dzingel, 23, was a seventh round pick (204th overall) in 2011 and is getting his first taste of the NHL. Dzingel has registered 22 points (7G / 15A) in 26 games with Binghamton this season. The Ohio State standout could make his NHL debut on Tuesday vs. the Panthers.

Andersen allowed one goal on six shots after replacing John Gibson in the Ducks loss to Carolina on December 11th. Tonight will be Andersen’s first start since November 21st after missing time due to illness. Andersen is 4-7-4 with a 2.55 GAA and .913 SV% on the season and tonight he will start in New Jersey—he comes in at 1-6-1 with a 2.85 GAA and .907 SV% on the road.

Slavin was only sent down for one game and the Hurricanes must like what Slavin brought to the team versus what Ryan Murphy did on Thursday. Savin had one assist in six games with the Hurricanes before he was sent down.

Reilly, 22, has registered two goals and seven assists in his first 23 AHL games with the Iowa Wild. He as a great offensive-defenseman in his time at the University of Minnesota and now it looks like he will get a crack at the NHL.

Slavin, 21, had one assists in six games during his time with Carolina. He heads back to Charlotte, where he has seven assists in 14 games last season.


Andersen has missed the last two games with the flu, but was back in net in practice on Sunday. Andersen has been dealing with a fever, that spiked as high as 102 degrees. John Gibson is expected to start again on Monday but Andersen could be aiming to return for Friday’s game home game vs. the Sharks.


Andersen is not expected to dress on Tuesday because of an illness, so the Ducks have recalled John Gibson to backup Anton Khudobin. The Ducks play on Wednesday as well, so Andersen could miss tomorrow’s game too.

Andersen stopped 24 of 25 shots in the Ducks win in Florida on Thursday. Their Florida trip continues tonight in Tampa Bay where they’ll play a banged up Lightning team. Andersen has gone 4-1-2 with a 2.75 GAA and .907 SV% in November, but has struggled to a 1-5-1 road record this season.

Anderson was yanked after allowing three goals on 10 shots in the Ducks loss in Nashville on Tuesday. After winning his first three starts in November, Andersen has now dropped his last three games while posting an ugly 4.44 GAA and .831 SV%. Tonight he will take on the Panthers for the second time this season—he stopped 23 of 25 in a 3-2 shootout win in their first meeting.

Savin, 21, has seven assists in 14 games with Charlotte this season. The 2012 fourth round pick (120th overall) skated on the Hurricanes’ top pair with Justin Faulk in Thursday’s practice, so expect him to make his NHL debut on Friday.

It was a rough start to the season for Anaheim, but they’ve now won four consecutive and Andersen makes for a must-start tonight vs. Arizona.
