Carrier has been sidelined since March 30th by a lower-body injury and was one of three players added to LTIR on Tuesday to make room for Mark Stone to be activated for their game in Vancouver. As a result, Carrier will likely be out until the playoffs or more cap gymnastics will be required.
Orlov was not on the ice for the Capitals' morning skate but the team is still hopeful that he'll play vs. the Flyers. Orlov will be replaced by Matt Irwin if he can't go but monitor his status as the Capitals hit the ice for warmups at 6:30 PM ET.
Lemieux has been out since March 4th but will be back in the Kings lineup vs. the Oilers. Lemieux, who is known more for his rugged style of play than his offence, has just three points (1G / 2A) in his last 22 games.
Kotkanieimi suffered a lower-body injury late in Tuesday's win in Washington on a questionable hit from Lars Eller. Jordan Martinook (undisclosed) could be back in the lineup on Thursday to replace Kotkanieimi on the fourth line.
The Hurricanes selected Gunler in the second-round of the 2020 NHL Draft and he has remained in Sweden since then. The 20-year-old had 13 goals with 10 assists (23 points) in 52 games with Brynas IF Gavle (SHL) this season.
