Andersen stopped 22 of 23 shots in the Maple Leafs win in Los Angeles on Tuesday. Andersen is red-hot, winning four in a row while turning aside 127 of the 130 shots (.977 SV%) that he has faced. As good as Andersen has been, the Sharks are one of the NHL’s best team and come in ranked 11th in the NHL in goals (3.21 GF/pg).
Andersen allowed one goal on 39 shots in the Maple Leafs win over the Devils last Friday. Garret Sparks gave him the night off on Saturday, so Andersen will kick-off the Maple Leafs road-trip tonight in Los Angeles. The Kings are starting their third-string goalie and Andersen is 5-0-0 with a 2.20 GAA, .932 SV% and one shutout on the road.
Kase missed the first 18 games of the season but is expected to play Monday vs. the Predators. Kase skated on the Ducks second line with Ryan Kesler and Nick Ritchie on Sunday and should make his debut there. The 23-year-old had 20 goals and 18 assists (38 points) in 66 games with the Ducks last season.
Andersen allowed one goal on 37 shots in the Maple Leafs win over the Golden Knights on Tuesday. Andersen has been brilliant as of late, going 4-2-0 with a 1.52 GAA, .951 SV% and one shutout in his last six starts. The Maple Leafs have done well without Auston Matthews, but continue to struggle on home-ice, to no fault of Andersen. He is 3-5-0 despite posting a 2.17 GAA and .927 SV% at Scotiabank Arena.
Staal missed Tuesday’s game with an illness, but said he expects to play in Los Angeles. Head coach Bruce Boudreau called Staal a game-time decision, but it sounds like he’ll be back in. Staal has 11 points (5G /6A) in 13 games this season.
Jost has missed the last four games with a head injury, but is expected to play Friday vs. the Jets. Jost will re-enter the lineup with just two points (1G / 1A) and nine shots on goal in 11 games.
Staal was a late scratch from Tuesday’s game in San Jose and may not play Thursday either. Staal traveled to Los Angeles, but is questionable to play vs. the Kings. Matt Read was recalled from Iowa (AHL) to play if Staal can’t.
It seemed likely that Jost would return to the Avalanche lineup, but he will not play tonight vs. the Predators. With Jost still out, Vladislav Kamenev is expected to remain in a top-6 role.
Jost has been sidelined since October 26th, but could be back tonight vs. the Predators. Jost’s status will be determined after the morning skate, so keep an eye on him this afternoon. Jost had a slow start to the season, picking up just one goal and one assist (two points) in 11 games.
Andersen stopped all 31 shots that he faced in the Maple Leafs shutout win in Pittsburgh on Saturday. The win snapped a brief two-game losing skid for Andersen, who has won three of his last five while posting a 1.62 GAA, .946 SV% and one shutout. The 29-year-old is surprisingly 2-5-0 in seven starts at Scotiabank Arena this season.
Lemieux was given 17 penalty minutes and ejected on the hit and will miss Friday’s game vs. the Avalanche and Sunday’s game vs. the Devils as well. Jack Roslovic will likely replace him in the Jets’ lineup.
Roslovic has played in every game so far this season, but will give way to Nic Petan vs. the Panthers on Friday. The young centre played just 4:21 TOI yesterday and has averaged just 7:20 TOI/GM in 13 contests this season, amassing just two assists.
Chatfield has one assist in seven games with Utica so far this season. The undrafted free agent could make his NHL debut on Friday, but it’s more likely that he has been called up as an extra defenseman.
Andersen allowed two goals on 33 shots in the Maple Leafs loss to the Flames on Monday. Andersen will be making his sixth consecutive start tonight and comes in having allowed just 10 goals on 158 shots (.937 SV%) in his previous five games.
