Gallagher has missed the last 11 games with a groin injury, but will return to the lineup vs. the Panthers. Gallagher skated on the top line with Max Pacioretty and Alex Galchenyuk in Friday’s practice, expect him to be on the top power-play as well. Gallagher has 35 points (18G / 17A) in 49 games this season.
Gallagher has been sidelined by a groin injury since March 5th, but he will travel with the team to Florida and could return to the lineup on Thursday. The Canadiens have gone 4-6-0 in 10 games since Gallagher got hurt. Monitor his status during Thursday’s morning skate.
Armia will miss his eighth straight game with a lower-body injury, but is expected to play on Thursday. With Marko Dano playing, don't expect Armia to re-claimg his spot in the Jets’ top-6. He has four goals and four assists (eight points) in 34 games this season.
Armia played a season-high 19:24 TOI on Sunday and had just started taking on a larger role in Winnipeg, but will miss at least one week with a lower-body injury. With Armia out, Marko Dano will move into the Jets top-6.
Matheson, 21, was the Panthers first round pick (23rd overall) in 2012 but has never appeared in an NHL game. He has posted five goals and nine assists (14 points) in 43 games with Portland this season and is expected to make his NHL debut on Saturday.
Savard has been out since January 13th, but will be back tonight vs. Ottawa. With Savard out, either Cody Goloubef or Dalton Prout will come out of the lineup tonight. Savard has one goal and 15 assists (16 points) in 39 games this season.
Despite skating over the last week, Price remains at least three weeks away from returning to the Canadiens crease. This is a tough blow for a Habs team that continues to slip in the standings. With Price sidelined until mid-to-late February, Montreal will continue to roll with Mike Condon and Ben Scrivens as their goaltending tandem.
Price is not expected to return until after the All Star break, but he was on the ice for the last two days, which is a big step in him returning in early February. Price’s return would be huge for the Canadiens—he is one of the league’s top net minders and has gone 10-2-0 with a 2.06 GAA and .934 SV% this season.
Price has been sidelined since November 25th because of a lower-body injury and he was originally given a six-week timetable. Next Monday will mark six weeks, but Price has been ruled out for the remainder of January. Monitor Price’s status as the All Star game approaches.
Gallagher has been sidelined since November 22nd after breaking two fingers while blocking a shot. Gallagher had 19 points (9G / 10A) in 22 games before getting hurt, so his return to the lineup is huge for the Canadiens’ offence. Gallagher will skate on the top line with Tomas Plekanec and Max Pacioretty.
Savard suffered an ankle injury on December 15 at Dallas and is expected to miss four weeks. He has collected 13 assists and 29 penalty minutes in 33 games with the Blue Jackets this season.
