Mike Babcock said he'll decide later if Tomas Tatar will play tonight for Red Wings, but it sure sounded like he's in after morning skate.
Tatar could enter the lineup in either Mikael Samuelsson or Todd Bertuzzi's spot in the Red Wings lineup. Samuelsson played just two shifts in the third period yesterday, so he would seem like the most likely candidate.

Tatar is a great talent who will get into the Red Wings lineup soon, however it will not be in the opener. Detroit will put a veteran roster on the ice on Wednesday.

Tomas Tatar made the Wings’ final roster, but now the question is when will he get in the lineup. It appears Wings coach Mike Babcock will sit Tatar in the season opener, opting to go with a more veteran look as Joakim Andersson will center Todd Bertuzzi and Daniel Cleary.
“I’m out of the lineup right now, but I don’t know what will happen Wednesday, so just wait for a chance,” Tatar said. “I’m the youngest guy in the locker room, so I wait and when chance comes I’m going to grab it and hold it.” Tatar is a tremendous offensive talent and will get his shot soon. He has great speed, great hands and the ability to set up linemates and score.
Hitch said the next two games should determine where Halak and Elliott are at and believes both have been strong but when asked about Jake Allen again, Hitch added "Jake’s not going to go away quietly."
Allen is expected to start the season in the AHL despite having a strong camp.
Panthers re-sign goalie Jacob Markstrom for two years
Markstrom projects to be the Panthers' top goalie this season but he will still have to earn the job out of camp. Stash him late in your drafts with hopes he can put it all together this season.
The Anaheim Ducks have acquired Jakob Silfverberg, Stefan Noesen and a 2014 first round pick from the Ottawa Senators for Bobby Ryan.
Noesen was the 21st overall pick in the 2011 NHL Draft. He had 82 points in 63 games in 2011-12 as a member of the Plymouth Whalers. This past season was not quite as successful, but he was still a point per game player with 53 points in 51 games.
With Seidenberg, Ference, and Redden out; Dougie Hamilton will play in Game 1.
Hamilton appeared in three games in the first round. He posted no points and averaged 15:09 time-on-ice in three games.

With Andrew Ference getting suspended in Game 1, Hamilton will enter the lineup in Game 2. Hamilton had five goals and 11 assists in 42 games in his rookie season.
It doesn't look like Dougie Hamilton will play for the #bruins tonight. He's not on the ice for the morning skate.
Claude Julien usually does not like to use rookies in the playoffs so this is no surprise. Tyler Seguin only appeared in 13 of the Bruins 25 games in their 2010-11 Stanley Cup run.

Markstrom allowed four goals on 17 shots in a blowout loss to the Maple Leafs on Thursday. He will face his Florida counterparts for the third time this season. He is 1-1-0 with a 2.42 GAA and .907 SV% vs. the Lightning this season.

Markstrom played great stopping 36 of 38 shots in a win over the Rangers on Tuesday. He had lost six straight while giving up 25 goals prior to Tuesday's contest. He'll face a solid Leafs team tonight, look elsewhere.
