The Blues team defense will help both Allen and Brian Elliott's numbers all season. He draws a tough matchup vs. the Ducks, but the Blues should be able to slow them down.

Bernier was pulled after he allowed four goals on 25 shots in the Maple Leafs loss to the Bruins on Saturday. Bernier kept the Leafs in Satruday's contest in Detroit, stopping 31 straight shots, before Henrik Zetterbeg blasted one by him with nine seconds left in Overtime. It was by far his best game of the season and he will look to carry it into tonight's meeting with the up-start Islanders.

Bernier made 11 saves on 12 shots after relieving James Reimer in Sunday's win over the Rangers. He took a seat on Tuesday vs. Colorado, but it looks like he will be back in goal on Friday vs. Detroit. With the Leafs taking on the Penguins on Saturday and the Rangers on Sunday, it looks like Bernier will get the start Saturday and James Reimer on Sunday. Bernier allowed four goals on 32 shots in the Leafs 4-3 loss to the Habs in the season opener. The Penguins lit the Ducks up on Thursday, so this is not a pretty matchup for Bernier.

Bernier will start the Maple Leafs' season opener on Wednesday.

Bernier had a tremendous preseason, winning all three games and posting a 1.17 GAA and .958 SV%. Bernier enjoyed a solid debut season with the Leafs, winnings 26 of 55 games with a 2.68 GAA and .923 SV%. The Maple Leafs are taking a more balanced approach into the 2014-15 season and it should provide Bernier with more stable play in front of him, which in turn, should improve Bernier's splits.

Jonathan Bernier
Tatar (head) will not play in the final two preseason games, but should be ready for regular season opener.

Tatar was injured on Wednesday but passed the concussion test and is not suffering from any headaches, which is a great sign for the 23-year-old. Expect him to be in the lineup on October 9th and push for 20-plus goals this season.

The Stars have signed RFA Brenden Dillon to a one-year deal worth $1.25 million.

Dillon, 23, had six goals and 11 assists in 2013-14. The 6-foot-3, 225 lbs. defensemen led the Stars in hits last season with 168 and finished second in blocked shots (149). Dillon will once again play 20-plus minutes a night, but his fantasy value is limited due to his lack of power-play time.
