Beckman was a third-round pick (No.75 overall) in 2019 and led the WHL in goals (48) and points (107) in 63 games this season. It was obviously a fantastic season for the 18-year-old, who looks like he could be a third-round steal for Minnesota.

Tonight he takes on a Carolina team that is 4-1-1 while scoring 3.83 goals per game in their last six road games.
Pesce will obviously miss the rest of the 2020 season, including playoffs, and turn his focus to getting ready for training camp 2021. The Hurricanes will have to try and navigate through the playoffs without two of their top-3 defensemen but they added Brady Skjei at the deadline to help ease the loss of Pesce.

The Hurricanes were busy on trade deadline day to they had to make some room and they did so by moving Dougie Hamilton to LTIR. To help make up for the loss of Hamilton and most recently Brett Pesce, the Hurricanes used the cap space to acquired Brady Skjei and Sami Vatanen.
Markstrom was hurt in the Boston game on Saturday and underwent an MRI on Monday morning. He'll return to Vancouver to be re-evaluated and the Canucks will likely return a more detailed timetable after that. With Markstrom out, Thatcher Demko will serve as the Canucks' No.1 netminder and they made a trade for Louis Domingue today to give them a No.2 netminder.
