Bernier will start Friday vs. the Bruins.

Bernier gave up two goals on 11 shots after replacing Jimmy Howard in the Red Wings blowout loss to Nashville on Monday. In his last five starts and two relief appearances, Bernier has gone 0-4-1 with a 3.85 GAA and .879 SV%. The Red Wings are struggling mightily, so neither of their goalies should be rostered and Bernier especially isn't an option against a Bruins team that has the highest Points% (.800 -- 11-2-2) in the NHL.

Markstrom will start Thursday in Chicago.

Markstrom allowed two goals on 27 shots in the Canucks loss to the Blues on Tuesday. Markstrom has lost three of his last four starts while posting a 2.87 GAA and .890 SV% but draws a quality matchup vs. the Blackhawks on Thursday. Chicago is 4-7-3 and are averaging the third-fewest goals per game (2.36) in the NHL this season.

Markstrom will start Tuesday vs. the Blues.

Markstrom allowed two goals on 29 shots in the Canucks loss in Anaheim last Friday. Thatcher Demko got the nod on Saturday but Markstrom will make his third start in four games on Tuesday. He's actually been better on the road, but has yet to lose in regulation in Vancouver, going 2-0-1 with a 2.84 GAA and .910 SV% so far. He also went 2-0 against the Blues a season ago.

Bratt (upper-body) will not play Tuesday; could join the team later on the road-trip.

Bratt worked out off ice on Monday and will not travel to Winnipeg for Tuesday's game. It is the start of a four-game western Canadian road-trip for the Devils, so they haven't ruled out the possibility of Brett joining them later in the trip. Nikita Gusev will replace him on Tuesday.

Allen starts Saturday in Minnesota.

Allen allowed four goals on 24 shots in the Blues loss to the Canadiens on October 19th. Allen missed a start last weekend due to an illness but will make his third start of the season on Saturday evening. He has allowed four goals in each of his starts while posting a .849 SV%, but a matchup with the Wild keeps him in the spot-start conversation on Saturday.

Bernier led the Red Wings onto the ice for warmups.

Bernier allowed one goal on 12 shots in the Red Wings loss in Carolina last night. With Jimmy Howard stumbling, Bernier will go tonight in Florida and look to snap a four-game personal losing streak. The Panthers currently rank fifth in the league in goal scoring (3.54 GF/gm) so look elsewhere for goalie options tonight.

Markstrom will start Friday in Anaheim.

Markstrom allowed three goals on 24 shots in the Canucks win in Los Angeles on Wednesday. Markstrom has won five of his last six starts (5-0-1) while posting a 2.60 GAA and .919 SV%. He struggled to 1-3-0 vs. the Ducks last year but the Canucks are firing on all cylinders offensively right now, so Markstrom has a good chance at chalking up his sixth win.

Markstrom surrendered five goals on 29 shots in the Canucks loss to the Capitals last Friday. Thatcher Demko started Monday, so it's not surprising to see them coming back to Markstrom in Los Angeles. He is 2-2-0 with a 2.28 GAA and .927 SV% in four road starts this season and faces a Kings team that has lost three in a row while being outscored 15-to-4.

Hischier (upper-body) is likely to return to the Devils lineup on Friday.

Hischier has missed the last two games with an upper-body ailment but was a full participant in Thursday's practice and should play Friday. Hischier was on the first line when he got hurt but it looks like he will return on the third line with Nikita Gusev and Pavel Zacha on his wings.

Nico Hischier
Bernier will start Wednesday in Ottawa.

Bernier allowed two goals on 37 shots in the Red Wings loss in Edmonton last Friday. Bernier opened the season with two wins but has lost two in a row since then. Overall, he has a 3.02 GAA and .905 SV% but has played very well at times and makes for an interesting spot-start option in Ottawa for owners who are desperate for goaltending help.
