Schneider has cleared waivers and been assigned to Binghamton (AHL).

Schneider still has three years left on a contract that carries a $6.0M AAV cap-hit so it's not surprising that he cleared waivers. Schneider's game has completely fallen apart in recent years, as he's gone 6-27-7 with league worsts in GAA (3.55) and SV% (.885) in his last 44 appearances. Unless he goes to Binghamton and completely reinvents himself, this could be the last we see of Cory Schneider.

Rittich will start Tuesday vs. the Avalanche.

Rittich allowed two goals on 23 shots in the Flames loss in Arizona on Saturday. Cam Talbot started twice last week but the schedule sets up for Rittich to start all three games this week. In his first start vs. Colorado, he allowed four goals on 31 shots in a 5-3 loss, but Mikko Rantanen and Gabriel Landeskog were healthy for that game.

Varlamov is expected to start Tuesday in Pittsburgh.

Varlamov allowed four goals on 28 shots in Colorado's win over the Maple Leafs last Wednesday. Thomas Greiss started Saturday but the goalie rotation will continue tonight in Pittsburgh. The 31-year-old has gone 2-0 while allowing just one goal on 60 shots (.983 SV%) in his two road starts. He allowed four goals on 39 shots in a 4-3 OT loss in his first start vs. the Penguins.

Drouin will have wrist surgery on Monday and is out indefinitely.

Drouin suffered a wrist injury during Friday's game in Washington, was placed on IR on Saturday and will miss several weeks after undergoing surgery on Monday. Tomas Tatar moved back to the top-line with Drouin out and Charles Hudon will likely remain with the team while he is out.

Jonathan Drouin
Rittich will start Saturday in Arizona.

Rittich allowed three goals on 28 shots in the Flames loss to the Blues last Saturday. With Cam Talbot starting vs. the Stars on Tuesday, it has been a full week since Rittich's last game. He stopped 34 of 37 shots in a come-from-behind overtime win in his first start vs. Arizona.

Varlamov led the Islanders onto the ice for warmups.

Varlamov allowed four goals on 39 shots in the Islanders' loss to the Penguins last Thursday. The loss snapped a five-game winning streak for Varlamov, who will make his ninth start of the season on Wednesday. The 31-year-old enters play at 3-2-1 with a 3.04 GAA and .904 SV% in six starts on home ice.

Panik (upper-body) will return to the Capitals lineup on Monday.

Panik has missed the last 10 games with an upper-body injury but will play Monday vs. the Coyotes. Panik struggled in his first eight games with the Capitals, failing to record a point with a minus-1 rating and seven shots. He'll skate on the third line with Lars Eller and Chandler Stephenson on the Capitals' third-line.

Richard Panik
Rittich will start Saturday vs. the Blues.

Rittich allowed two goals on 23 shots in the Flames win over the Devils on Thursday. Rittich has won four consecutive games while allowing a combined 10 goals on 139 shots (.928 SV%). Rittich is on a heater right now but the Blues comes in playing good hockey as well--they're on a six-game winning streak and have averaged 3.67 goals per game over that span.

Schneider will start Friday in Edmonton.

Schneider surrendered seven goals on 23 shots in the Devils loss to the Lightning on October 30th. Mackenzie Blackwood has started the last four games but Schneider will get a chance to get back in the crease on the tail-end of a back-to-back in Western Canada. The 33-year-old is still looking for his first win of the season, going 0-3-1 with an ugly 4.71 GAA and .847 SV% in his first five starts.

The Flyers have recalled Andy Andreoff from Lehigh Valley (AHL).

Andreoff has had a nice start to the AHL season, posting three goals and four assists (seven points) in 10 games with Lehigh Valley. He was fourth among Syracuse Crunch (AHL) forwards in points (55) in 75 games last season but has never played more than a fourth-line role in the NHL. He has just 24 points (13G / 11A) in 159 career NHL games, all with the Los Angeles Kings.

Andy Andreoff
Varlamov will start Thursday vs. the Penguins.

Varlamov stopped all 27 shots that he faced in the Islanders shutout win in Buffalo last Saturday. Varlamov has won five in a row while posting a 1.58 GAA, .947 SV% and one shutout. On Thursday, he will face a Penguins team that is 3-3-0 despite averaging 4.17 goals per game on the road this season.

Rittich will start Thursday vs. the Devils.

Rittich gave up three goals on 37 shots in the Flames win over the Coyotes on Tuesday. Rittich has now won three in a row while allowing a combined eight goals on the last 116 shots (.931 SV%) that he has faced. He is rolling right now and faces a Devils team that is 2-3-0 with just 1.80 goals per game on the road this season.

David Rittich
Rittich will start Tuesday vs. the Coyotes.

Rittich stopped all 43 shots that he faced in the Flames shutout win in Columbus on Saturday. Cam Talbot gave him the night off on Sunday, but they'll come right back to Rittich tonight. He has been relatively inconsistent on a night-to-night basis but has won five of his last eight while posting a 2.55 GAA and .921 SV%, so he's a good option vs. an Arizona team that played last night.

Varlamov led the Islanders onto the ice for warmups.

Varlamov surrendered three goals on 31 shots in the Islanders win over the Flyers last Sunday. Thomas Greiss started last night so look for Varlamov to get the second game of their back-to-back in Buffalo. He comes into play on a four-game winning streak, posting a 1.96 GAA and .935 SV% in the process. He is a good option whenever the Islanders call on him.
