Rittich will start Saturday in Columbus.

Rittich allowed five goals on 36 shots in the Flames win in Nashville on Thursday. The win ended a brief two-game losing skid for Rittich, who was 6-4-2 with a 3.02 GAA and .906 in 12 starts in October. He did not lose in regulation in Calgary but has struggled on the road, going 2-4-1 with a 3.66 GAA and .893 SV% in seven starts. Tonight he faces a Blue Jackets team that has lost three in a row and come in on the tail-end of a back-to-back.

The Blackhawks have recalled Adam Boqvist from Rockford (AHL).

Boqvist was the No.8 overall pick in 2018 and has registered just one goal in six games with Rockford this season. He is an under-sized, offensive-minded defenseman that had 60 points (20G / 40A) in 54 games with the London Knights (OHL) last season. The Blackhawks continue to make a commitment to younger players, as Boqvist's promotion comes one day after they said Kirby Dach will remain with the team.

Schneider starts Wednesday vs. the Lightning.

Schneider allowed six goals on 34 shots in the Devils loss to the Panthers on October 14th. The Devils have had a weird schedule as of late and MacKenzie Blackwood has started the last three games, so Schneider will make his first start in over two weeks. He is 0-3-0 with a 4.08 GAA and .876 SV% in four starts this season, so stay far away against the Lightning--even though they played last night and could be without three regulars.

Rittich will start Tuesday in Carolina.

Rittich stopped 43 of 45 shots in the Flames loss in Winnipeg on Saturday. Rittich has been consistently inconsistent to open 2019-20, going 5-3-2 with a 2.94 GAA and .909 SV% in 10 starts. He has been under siege with regularity, facing an average of 31.7 shots per game and tonight he meets a Hurricanes team that is just outside the top-10 in scoring (3.27 GF/gm, tied for 11th).

Tonight he faces a Coyotes team that has won four straight while averaging an impressive 4.25 goals per game.

Cizikas (lower-body) will return to the Islanders lineup on Thursday.

Cizikas has missed the last five games with a lower-body injury but will play Thursday vs. the Coyotes. Cizikas plays quite a bit (13:04 ATOI) in a fourth-line role but doesn't carry any fantasy value. He has one assist in three games this season.

Rittich will start Saturday in Los Angelels.

Rittich allowed one goal on 28 shots in the Flames win over the Red Wings on Thursday. Rittich has been hot as of late, winning two in a row while stopping 48 of 50 shots (.960 SV%). The Kings offence has been solid early-on but they are still 2-5-0, so don’t hesitate to use Rittich on Saturday night.

The Capitals have placed Richard Panik (upper-body) on LTIR.

Panik was forced to leave Wednesday’s game against the Maple Leafs after colliding heavily with teammate Jonas Siegenthaler. Immediately moving him to LTIR means it’s a fairly significant upper-body issue and means that he will miss at least 10 games or 24 days. Garnet Hathaway is expected to move up to the third line in Panik’s spot.

Varlamov led the Islanders onto the ice for warmups.

Varlamov gave up two goals on 37 shots in the Islanders win over the Panthers last Saturday. Varlamov and Thomas Greiss continue to alternate games, with both netminders playing well in recent outings. As a former member of the Avalanche, Varlamov has seen a lot of the Jets in recent years—going 4-3-0 with a .928 SV% against them over the last three years.
