Los Angeles Kings’ goaltender Jonathan Quick left Tuesday’s game in overtime with an apparent lower-body injury.

Quick stretched to make a save in the extra-frame and then slid back and hit his leg off of the post. Quick stayed down clearly in pain. Quick had an easy night before getting injured, he allowed two goals on 17 shots. Ben Scrivens replaced Quick in overtime and was not forced to make a save. The game went to a shootout where the Sabres scored two of three shots on Scrivens to win 3-2. There is no word one the nature or severity of Quick’s injury but it had the look of a groin injury. He will be evaluated tomorrow and more details will be released.

Jonathan Quick
Quick starts for the Kings.

Quick stopped all 19 shots to earn his first shutout of the season vs. the Sabres on Thursday. It was an easy shutout for Quick, but it was what he needed after giving up seven goals in his previous two contests. Tonight he will face the Canucks at home, where he is 6-3-0 with a 2.53 GAA and .890 SV%.

Quick is the Kings projected starter.

All Quick owners should be excited about an unlikely early Quick confirm!

Quick was beat up for four goals on 17 shots in a loss to the Predators on Saturday. He has had four days off since his last start, so he and the Kings should be well rested when the Sabres come to town tonight. The Sabres are a great matchup for Quick, making him a must-start.

Quick starts for the Kings.

On Wednesday, Quick gave up three goals on 20 shots but still walked away with the overtime win against the Sharks. The win was his eighth of the season to go along with a 2.56 GAA and .903 SV%. His numbers are still not where his owners would like them, but he should make for a good start tonight vs. Nashville.

Scrivens starts Tuesday; Quick starts Wednesday.

While Richard Bachman worked his tail off on one end (47 saves), Quick eased his way to a 2-1 shootout win in the other. He only saw 18 shots in the contest and picked up his seventh win in 11 starts. Quick had a slow start last season, so expect the 2.53 GAA and .907 SV% to improve as the season progresses. Quick draws the tougher of the two matchups as he takes on the Sharks tomorrow.

Zibanejad has been moved to the Senators second line with Kyle Turris and Clarke MacArthur.

Zibanejad has seen his ice-time increase in all three games since being recalled. He has one goal and one assist while averaging 14:05 TOI. The move to the second line will help the former sixth overall pick stay in the NHL.

Mika Zibanejad
Quick likely starts for the Kings.

Quick allowed three goals on 25 shots in a loss to the Flames on Monday. Despite the loss Quick has looked much sharper in his recent starts, providing his owners with a sense of relaxation after a slow start. He has a solid matchup with the Coyotes tonight.

The Ottawa Senators have recalled Mika Zibanejad from Binghamton (AHL).

The sixth overall pick in 2011 was a surprise cut at the end of the preseason. Since being sent down Zibanejad scored two goals and added five assists in seven games with the Senators AHL affiliate. He will be in the lineup on Wednesday vs. Detroit.

Quick starts tonight for the Kings.

Quick allowed two goals on 29 shots in a 5-2 win over the Stars on Saturday. He has been a little inconsistent, but has now had two great starts in a row. His GAA is at 2.50 and SV% up to .913 so continue to start him, especially against the Flames tonight.

Jonathan Quick
The Rangers recalled Chris Kreider from Hartford (AHL).

Kreider has two goals and two assists in six games with Hartford. The Rangers don't play again until Thursday, but he was skating on the top-line this morning with Brad Richards and Derek Stepan. He was the 19th overall pick in 2009 but has yet to take the next step in his NHL career. This could be the chance he needs with all the injuries that have hit New York.

Quick in net for the Kings.

Quick was yanked from Tuesday's start after giving up three goals on 17 shots. His slow start to the 2013-14 continued and he has now won just three out of six starts while posting a 2.90 GAA and .896 SV%. He should be able to keep the puck out of the net against the Predators 24th ranked offence.

Jonathan Quick
Quick vs. Bishop.

Quick was given the night off on Sunday in Florida so he will be back in net tonight in Tampa Bay. His last start was the best of the year so far, he turned away 27 of 28 shots in a win over the Hurricanes. He has a subpar matchup tonight against a Lightning team who are averaging 3.40 goals per game.
