Quick is expected to start for the Kings.

Quick was given the night off on Sunday in Florida so it is a near certainty that he will be back in the net tonight in Tampa Bay. His last start was the best of the year so far, he turned away 27 of 28 shots in a win over the Hurricanes. He has a subpar matchup tonight against a Lightning team who are averaging 3.40 goals per game.

Quick will start for the Kings.

Quick allowed three goals on 28 shots including a rink-long goal that he drastically misplayed. Starting the season 1-2-0 with a 3.18 GAA and .893 SV% was not what Quick owners were looking for, but do not panic he will be fine. He will likely go head-to-head with Craig Anderson, in what should be a great goaltending battle.

Quick is the default starter unless reported otherwise. Nothing has been reported about Ben Scrivens starting tonight so it is a near certainty that Quick will start.

The Los Angeles Kings will go with the same lineup as in the first two games - Quick will start.

Quick will look to rebound tonight after a rough start on Friday. He allowed four goals on 27 shots in a 5-3 loss to the Jets. Quick now sports a 3.26 GAA and .893 SV% early in the 2013-14 season. He will face the 0-1-0 Rangers, who only scored one goal in their first game.

Rangers say they have assigned JT Miller to the AHL. With Ryan Callahan returning to the lineup on Monday, Miller would have been bumped out. He will return to the Hartford Wolf Pack where he will see a lot more playing time.

Miller registered one shot and an even plus/minus rating in 11:58 of playing time in the Rangers season opener.

Jonathan Quick will start in goal for the Kings.

Quick started the season strong, allowing just two goals on 29 shots in a shootout win over the Minnesota Wild last night. One of the goals looked like it was kicked in by Matt Cooke, but after review it was ruled a good goal. He will be back between the pipes tonight against a Jets team that scored five on Devan Dubnyk. Quick is a must-start regardless of matchups.

Mika Zibanejad has been assigned to Binghamton (AHL).

This is surprising, Zibanejad had a great preseason and looked like a lock to make the Sens roster. He had seven goals and 13 assists (20 points) in 42 games for Ottawa last season. The move was likely made because Zibanejad is waiver exempt and the Senators did not want to expose Stephane Da Costa to waivers. Expect to see Zibanejad back with Ottawa soon.

The 19th pick in the 2009 NHL Draft Chris Kreider, is in danger of being cut from the Rangers opening day roster.

Kreider has been average during the preseason and might have played himself off of New York's roster. “A lot of players are close but really haven’t shown me they can play at this level on a consistent basis,” head coach Alain Vigneault said. “There are still guys [with a chance] who are going to play [against the Kings] but they have to play better.”

Quick will start the must-win Game 5.

Quick allowed three goals on 28 shots in Thursday's Game 4 loss. The Kings lost the the game 3-2 and now trail the Hawks 3-1 in the best-of-seven series. They will turn to last year's Conn Smythe winner to give them a big performance tonight so they can stay alive in the NHL playoffs.

Quick will start Game 3.

Quick was chased from Game 2 after giving up four goals on 17 shots in only 29:20. Rarely do four go in against Quick, who had gone 34 consecutive games in the Stanley Cup Playoffs without allowing more than three goals -- and he did that four times over the 34-game span. The last time he had allowed four goals was April 25, 2011. Expect him to bounce back nicely at the Staples Center in Game 3.

Quick will start Game 6.

Quick stopped all 24 shots that he faced in Game 5 for his third shutout of the playoffs. He holds the Playoffs best GAA (1.50) and SV% (.948). Quick and the Kings will look to end the series and head to the Western Conference Finals for the second season in a row with a win tonight in San Jose.

Quick will start Game 4.

Quick allowed two goals on 40 shots including the OT winner by Logan Couture 1:29 into the fourth frame. With Corey Crawford getting beat for seven goals in the last two games, Quick is now the GAA leader in the playoffs (1.60 GAA). He is also second in the playoffs in SV% (.947).
