The 21-year-old has a high potential to make his first NHL appearance Friday as the Hurricanes take on Washington on the road.

Nieto will miss approximately the next two months after undergoing successful laparoscopic surgery on his right knee. Nieto has been in and out of the lineup for the Penguins this season, scoring four points (1G / 3A) and averaging 11:37 time-on-ice through 22 games.

Nedeljkovic entered Tuesday's 4-3 loss to the Washington Capitals in relief, saving 14 of 15 shots (.933 SV%), and has only allowed two goals on the last 53 shots he's faced (.962 SV%). The Penguins, winners of three of their last four (3-1-0), are +132 road underdogs against a Bruins squad that has won four straight.

Shea has appeared in 22 games this season but has yet to pick up a point while collecting 13 SOG, six PIMs and a -2 plus/minus. He was reassigned to the Wilkes-Barre/Scranton (AHL) on Tuesday but immediately recalled on Wednesday after John Ludvig (undisclosed) was placed on IR.

Rust will return to the Penguins' lineup for Tuesday's game against the Capitals after missing the last ten games due to an upper-body injury he suffered on December 6th. Before his injury, Rust was having a terrific season, scoring 20 points (10G / 10A) in 22 games. He will skate alongside Reilly Smith and Evgeni Malkin on the Penguins' second line tonight.

The 26-year-old will have to wait to acquire his first career NHL point as he heads back to Wilkes-Barre/Scranton where he had no points in four games prior to his original promotion.
