Seattle Kraken News
Daccord was the first goalie off the ice at Seattle's morning skate.

Daccord had his first night off in nearly a month on Tuesday, and despite Philipp Grubauer playing well in a 2-1 victory over the New York Islanders, the Kraken will likely return to Daccord between the pipes on Thursday night. Daccord and the Kraken have fallen off after an amazing run through December and the beginning of January, but the netminder has played well despite winning only two of his last nine games (2-6-1), posting a respectable .916 SV%.

Grubauer will start on Long Island on Tuesday.

Grubauer will be back between the pipes for the first time since suffering a lower-body injury on December 9th against the Lightning. Grubauer still had a weak grip on the Kraken starting job prior to his injury, but Joey Daccord has since taken full control of Seattle's crease. Grubauer lost his previous four starts prior to the injury, and Daccord excelled in his absence, posting a .935 SV% across 22 starts. Grubauer draws a difficult matchup in his return, with the Kraken being +145 underdogs on Long Island.

Philipp Grubauer
Daccord will start in New Jersey on Monday.

Daccord will maintain his hold on the Kraken crease on Monday as Philip Grubauer is yet to make an appearance since returning from a lower-body injury on January 24th, though that will likely come to an end when the Kraken travel to Long Island on Tuesday for the tail-end of their back-to-back. Daccord was unfortunate to pick up the loss his last time out, stopping 35 of the 38 shots he faced as Seattle fell to the Flyers by a score of 3-2. He has enjoyed one of the biggest breakout campaigns across the NHL this season, posting a .921 SV% and a 2.34 GAA across 35 appearances.

Schwartz (undisclosed) will play in San Jose on Tuesday.

Schwartz missed Tuesday's morning skate due to maintenance but is apparently good to go for Tuesday's game vs. San Jose. The 31-year-old has enjoyed a fine season when healthy and is on pace for his most productive season since joining Seattle in 2021-22. He has 10 goals, 11 assists, 10 PIMs, 69 SOG and a -13 plus/minus in 33 games played so far this season.

Daccord will start in San Jose on Tuesday.

Daccord will man the Kraken crease for his fifth straight start after being the first goalie off the ice Tuesday ahead of a matchup in San Jose. The 27-year-old is one of the season's best stories as he's had a breakout campaign with his 15-8-9 record, 2.36 GAA and .920 SV%. He draws the favourable matchup of the San Jose Sharks, who surprisingly had a three game winning streak snapped by a 5-2 loss to Buffalo last game and are tied for last in the NHL in goals per game (2.08).

Daccord led the Kraken onto the ice for warmups.

Daccord stopped 32 of 34 shots in the Kraken's win over the Blackhawks on Wednesday. The win snapped a three-game losing streak for Daccord, who will make his 32nd appearance of the season on Friday.
