Grubauer stopped all eight shots he faced after replacing Braden Holtby in the Capitals loss in Anaheim on Tuesday. With Holtby struggling, Grubauer will get the nod tonight in Los Angeles. He had a sluggish start to the year but has really turned thing around in the last few months. He comes into Thursday at 3-4-3 with a 2.64 GAA and .916 SV% on the road this year.
Gibson turned aside 47 of 50 shots in the Islanders overtime loss in Pittsburgh on Saturday. It was a tough luck loss for Gibson, who was making his season debut, following 33 strong games in Bridgeport (AHL). He will look for his second NHL win in his sixth career game tonight in Edmonton.
Tanev was a healthy scratch after being activated from IR but will draw in for Mark Scheifele tonight in New Jersey. Tanev will be playing in his first game since February 3rd and returns to the lineup with 12 points (4G / 8A) in 46 games this season.

The 25-year-old, former second-round pick has gone 18-11-1 with a 2.31 GAA, .909 SV% and four shutouts in 33 games with Bridgeport (AHL) this season. His first start comes against one of the best teams in the Eastern Conference.
Eberle left Thursday’s practice with some general soreness and his status for Friday’s game is in question. The Islanders had no update on Eberle’s status this morning, so consider him a game-time decision.
