After playing great in the preseason, Boeser inexplicably served as a healthy scratch in the first two games of the season. Instead, the Canucks elected to give pugilist Derek Dorsett nearly 16 minutes per game in those contests, so expect Boeser to step into a top-9 role tonight.
Boeser had an excellent preseason and was an early favourite for rookie of the year, but he will have a tough time doing so if he can’t get into the lineup. The Canucks won their season opener vs. the Oilers, so they’ll roll with the same lineup tonight vs. the Senators—which means Jake Virtanen in, Boeser out.

Brannstrom is a bit undersized (5-foot-10/179 lbs.) for an NHL defenseman, but he was a solid two-way D-man for HV71 this season. He posted six points (1G / 5A) in 35 games this season and projects as a strong puck-moving defenseman who will need to try an add some bulk to fit into the NHL.
Pettersson is a lanky forward but possess an abundance of speed. While playing against men in Sweden’s second division, Pettersson recorded 19 goals and 21 assists (40 points) in 43 games.
Di Giuseppe left Sunday’s game in Arizona after playing just 8:51 TOI and did not return. This is a tough break for a young forward, who has played well since being called up in mid-February. Expect an update before tomorrow’s game in Colorado.
Myers has been out nearly three months and will miss at least six more weeks after he underwent surgery to repair a lower-body injury. This is a tough break for the towering defenseman, who has only played in 11 games this season.
Ferland missed the last three games with a lower-body injury, but will be back in the lineup tonight vs. the Predators. Ferland will replace Sam Bennett, who will be a healthy scratch. Ferland has five goals and six assists (11 points) in 44 games this season.

All signs are pointing towards him returning, so expect the rugged winger to play. He has 11 points (5G / 6A) in 44 games this season.
Ferland left Wednesday’s game vs. the Sharks and did not return. The injury will keep him out of the lineup tonight, but luckily for the Flames, Troy Brouwer (finger) will get back into the lineup tonight.
