Soucy (hand) will draw back into Vancouver's lineup on Tuesday.

Matt Irwin was reassigned to the Abbotsford Canucks (AHL) on Monday, making room for Soucy to return to the Vancouver lineup. Soucy has not played since suffering a hand injury on January 20th. A steadying presence on the blue line, Soucy has been limited to only 21 games this season due to an earlier lower-body injury and is five weeks into his original five-to-six-week prognosis. The 29-year-old has six points (2G / 4A), 21 hits, and 39 blocks this season.

Demko will start on Tuesday vs. Los Angeles.

Demko had the night off in the last game for the Canucks, a 2-1 win over the Anaheim Ducks, but will return to the crease in a divisional matchup against the Los Angeles Kings on Tuesday. Demko has lost five of his last six, allowing four or more goals three times and posting an ugly .876 SV%. The Canucks enter action with even -105 odds on the road against a Kings club that defeated them 5-1 less than a week ago.

The Canucks have signed Elias Pettersson to an eight-year contract extension worth $92.8 million ($11.6M AAV).

Pettersson is coming off of a three-year bridge deal that carried a $7.35M AAV cap-hit. The 25-year-old is on-pace for 99 points this season, after posting a career-best 102 points in 2022-23. In the last two seasons combined, Pettersson is tied for 7th in the NHL with 177 points (68G / 109A) in 142 games.

Bains has been reassigned to Abbotsford (AHL).

Bains first taste of NHL action is over after a decent five-game showing as he was reassigned to Abbotsford (AHL) on Friday. The 23-year-old undrafted rookie is one of the NHL's most interesting and impressive stories this season but unfortunately, he failed to produce in his short showing with zero points, three SOG, six PIMs and a -3 plus/minus while averaging a decent 12:57 TOI per game.

Demko will make his fourth straight start on Tuesday as he expectedly takes the crease vs. Pittsburgh and looks to extend his personal win streak to two games. The 28-year-old is a deserved front-runner for this year's Vezina Trophy, with his 31-12-1 record, 2.47 GAA, .915 SV% and 5 shutouts. He will host the Pittsburgh Penguins on Tuesday, who have won their last two games to remain in the playoff race but are 20th in the NHL in goals per game (2.98).
