Theodore was a late scratch ahead of Tuesday's contest against the Los Angeles Kings but returned to practice on Wednesday and should be ready to play on Friday against the Ottawa Senators. Noah Hanifin was on the top powerplay unit in Theodore's absence but will likely revert back to the secondary unit when Theodore returns to the lineup. Cole Schwindt will make his Golden Knights debut on Friday, replacing Brisson in the lineup. Brisson was the 29th overall pick of the Golden Knights in the 2020 NHL Entry Draft. The 22-year-old Brisson spent most of last season in the AHL, scoring 38 points (19G / 19A) in 52 games.

Schwindt was the 81st overall pick of the Calgary Flames in the 2019 NHL Entry Draft and has spent most of his professional career thus far in the AHL. Last season, he scored 36 points (14G / 22A) in 66 games with the Calgary Wranglers (AHL). He will draw into the lineup in favour of Brendan Brisson.
