Comrie will start in Washington on Wednesday.

Comrie has started both games since Connor Hellebuyck (knee) announced out for the next 4-6 weeks, but has not produced favourable results in those games (0-2-0), allowing seven goals on 58 combined shots (.879 SV%). The 30-year-old Comrie has a 2.87 GAA and .899 SV% through seven games this season (4-3-0). He has never started more than 20 games in a season, a total that he should have no problem surpassing in 2025-26. The Jets enter Wednesday's contest as +129 road underdogs against a Washington Capitals team that has scored five or more goals in three of their last four games (3-1-0).

Joshua is expected to be a healthy scratch in Columbus on Wednesday.

With several notable players returning from injury, Joshua will head to the sidelines as a healthy scratch for the first time as a Maple Leaf. The 29-year-old Joshua has five points (2G / 3A), 69 hits, and -8 plus/minus in 22 games this season.

Dakota Joshua
Maccelli is expected to be a healthy scratch in Columbus on Wednesday.

With several notable players returning from injury, Maccelli will head to the sidelines as a healthy scratch. The 25-year-old Maccelli was signed in the offseason to lessen the blow of losing Mitch Marner, but Maccelli has not been able to contribute anywhere near Marner's elite rate. Maccelli has nine points (4G / 5A) in 21 games this season.

Matias Maccelli
Blais is expected to be a healthy scratch in Columbus on Wednesday.

With several notable players returning from injury, Blais will head to the sidelines as a healthy scratch. The 29-year-old Blais has seen limited action this season but has been effective in primarily a fourth-line role, tallying three points (1G / 2A) and 28 hits in eight games.

Sammy Blais
Roy (upper-body) will return to Toronto's lineup in Columbus on Wednesday.

Roy has not played since suffering an upper-body injury on November 15th, but he has returned to practice and will return to the lineup as early as Wednesday against the Columbus Blue Jackets. The 28-year-old bottom-six forward has four points (1G / 3A) through 19 games in his first season with the Maple Leafs.

Nicolas Roy
Burakovsky (undisclosed) is a game-time decision vs. Minnesota on Wednesday.

Burakovsky has not played in the Blackhawks' previous two games, but he could return to the lineup on Wednesday against the Minnesota Wild. The 30-year-old Burakovsky had a career-high 61 points (22G / 39A) in 80 games with the Colorado Avalanche in the 2021-22 season, but has never come close to that total in other seasons. Playing predominantly alongside superstar Connor Bedar, Burakovsky has shown that evasive scoring tough through 18 games this season, scoring 15 points (7G / 8A).

Andre Burakovsky
Matthews (lower-body) will return to Toronto's lineup in Columbus on Wednesday.

Matthews has not played since suffering a lower-body injury from a Nikita Zadorov hit two weeks ago, but has been practicing for a week and will return to the lineup on Wednesday against the Columbus Blue Jackets. The 28-year-old Matthews has not been as dynamic as in previous seasons, but his goal-scoring prowess has been greatly missed by a Maple Leafs team that has lost seven of its last eight games (1-4-3). Matthews has 14 points (9G / 5A) through 17 games. Expect him to play on a line with Matthew Knies, who is also returning from a multi-game absence due to an injury.

Auston Matthews
Borgen (upper-body) will be a game-time decision in Carolina on Wednesday.

Borgen has only played one game in the last two weeks, but could return to the lineup on Wednesday against the Carolina Hurricanes. The 28-year-old Borgen has two points (1G / 2A) and is averaging 18:38 time-on-ice through 19 games this season.

Will Borgen
Miller (upper-body) will be a game-time decision in Carolina on Wednesday.

Miller did not play in New York's most recent game due to an upper-body injury and could miss a second consecutive contest on Wednesday against the Carolina Hurricanes. The 32-year-old Miller is averaging 20:41 time-on-ice, over three minutes more than his career average (17:35), but has struggled immensely in the offensive department this season, scoring only 12 points (6G / 6A) in 22 games despite being well-above a point-per-game player in his last five seasons.

J.T. Miller
Shesterkin will start in Carolina on Wednesday.

Shesterkin was already seeing a heavy workload, but with Jonathan Quick (lower body) on IR, expect him to see nearly all of the action until Quick returns. The 29-year-old Shesterkin has been inconsistent this season, mirroring the Rangers' team game, but was serviceable in his most recent outing, saving 19 of 21 shots (.905 SV%) in a 3-2 win over the St. Louis Blues. He has a 2.50 GAA and .909 SV% in 18 games this season (8-8-2). The Rangers enter Wednesday's contest as +165 road underdogs against a Hurricanes team that defeated them 3-0 earlier this month.

Wolf is in the starter's crease at Calgary's morning skate.

After a horrendous start to the season, the Flames have played better lately, riding a season-best three-game winning streak, due largely to the strong play of backup netminder Devin Cooley. That said, the Flames hope for more consistency out of the 2024-25 runner-up for the Calder Trophy, as Wolf returns to the crease on Wednesday against the Tampa Bay Lightning. Wolf was excellent in his most recent game, saving 29 of 31 shots (.935 SV%) in a 5-2 win over the Vancouver Canucks, but is sporting a subpar 3.02 GAA and .895 SV% through 19 games this season (6-11-2). The Flames enter their matchup against the Lightning on Wednesday as +163 road underdogs.

Dustin Wolf
Vladar will start in Florida on Wednesday.

The Flyers are off to a serviceable 11-7-3 start in an ultra-tight Eastern Conference, which they can largely credit to the solid play of Dan Vladar, who returns to the crease on Wednesday against the Florida Panthers. Vladar was excellent in his most recent outing, saving 32 of 35 shots (.914 SV%) in a 6-3 win over the New Jersey Devils. The 28-year-old Czech goalie is pacing for career-bests through 13 games this season (8-4-1), posting a solid 2.42 GAA and .912 SV%. The Flyers enter Wednesday's action as +157 road underdogs against a Panthers team they defeated 5-2 earlier this season.

Dan Vladar
Staal (illness) is doubtful vs. New York on Wednesday.

Staal did not play in Carolina's most recent game, and will likely miss a second consecutive game due to an illness. The 37-year-old Staal is coming off his best outing of the season, a two-goal performance in a 4-3 win over the Winnipeg Jets. Staal is averaging 15:17 time-on-ice and has nine points (7G / 2A) in 21 games this season.

Jordan Staal
Dadonov (undisclosed) is out vs. St. Louis on Wednesday and will be out "for a period of time".

Dadonov has been plagued by injuries this season, suffering a hand injury in the first game that kept him sidelined for nearly six weeks, and now he is battling an undisclosed injury that will likely keep him out of the lineup indefinitely. His inability to stay in the lineup has hampered cohesion with his new team, and he has yet to score a point through five games this season.
