Kane (upper-body) will remain out on Saturday vs. Tampa Bay and is still considered day-to-day.

Kane will not play on Saturday against the Tampa Bay Lightning, missing a second consecutive contest with an upper-body injury. The 36-year-old Kane has been held off the scoresheet in two straight games after a stretch where he tallied 16 points (6G / 10A) in 10 games.

Patrick Kane
Knies is day-to-day with an upper-body injury.

Knies appeared to suffer the injury after taking a hit from Kirill Marchenko late in the second period and was unable to return in Wednesday's 5-1 loss to the Columbus Blue Jackets. The 22-year-old Knies is having a productive season in Toronto, scoring 31 points (18G / 13A) in 47 games. He has 12 points (7G / 5A) in his last 10 games.

Matthew Knies
Ehlers (illness) will be a game-time decision vs. Utah on Friday.

Ehlers is battling an illness, and his status for Friday's game against the Utah Hockey Club is up in the air. The 28-year-old Ehlers is pacing for a career-best season, with 40 points (14G / 26A) through 40 games. His career high is 64 points (25G / 39A) in 82 games in the 2016-17 season.

Nikolaj Ehlers
Koepke (upper-body) has a chance to return on Saturday vs. Colorado.

Koepke has not played since January 14th, missing four straight games, but could return the lineup on Saturday against the Colorado Avalanche. The 26-year-old Koepke is averaging 10:42 time-on-ice and has 12 points (7G / 5A) and 99 hits in 44 games this season.

Cole Koepke
Stolarz (knee) took part in Toronto's practice on Friday.

Stolarz has not played since December 12th due to a knee injury but was back at practice on Friday. The 30-year-old Stolarz was heavily relied upon by the Maple Leafs before his absence, posting a stellar 2.15 GAA and .927 SV% in 17 games (9-5-2). Joseph Woll has seen most of the action between the pipes for the Maple Leafs in the interim.

Anthony Stolarz
Swayman (upper-body) is practicing on Friday after missing Boston's previous game.

Swayman missed the second half of Boston's back-to-back on Thursday due to an upper-body ailment but returned to practice on Friday and looks like an option to return on Saturday vs. Colorado. The 26-year-old had a well-documented contract dispute to begin the season and has followed it up with a below-average 15-16-4 record, .896 SV% and 3.00 GAA this year.

Jeremy Swayman
Rust (lower-body) left Thursday's game vs. Anaheim and did not return.

Rust was limited to 11:41 time-on-ice before exiting Thursday's 5-1 loss to the Anaheim Ducks with a lower-body injury. An update on Rust's status should be provided before the Penguins return to action on Saturday against the Seattle Kraken. The 32-year-old Rust has been producing at a tremendous rate, with 30 points (14G / 16A) in his last 27 contests.

Bryan Rust
Palat (illness) returned to practice on Friday after missing the Devils' previous game.

Palat did not play on Wednesday due to an illness but was back at practice on Friday. The 33-year-old Czech forward has 19 points (10G / 9A) in 48 games this season but only has three points (2G / 1A) in his last 10. The Devils return to action on Saturday against the Montreal Canadiens.

Ondrej Palat
Markstrom (MCL sprain) is expected to miss approximately four to six weeks.

Markstrom left Tuesday's game vs. Boston early due to an MCL Sprain after Justin Brazeau crashed into New Jersey's net and will be out for approximately four to six weeks. It is brutal timing for the 34-year-old, who will now miss representing Sweden at the Four Nations Cup. Markstrom was sporting a strong 21-9-5 record with a .912 SV% in his first season with the Devils. Isaac Poulter was recalled from Utica (AHL) in a corresponding move on Friday.

Jacob Markstrom
Howden (illness) will not play in St. Louis on Thursday.

Howden had an impressive outing in Monday's 5-4 shootout loss to the St. Louis Blues, recording one goal, five shots, and one hit in 13:29 time-on-ice, but is battling an illness, and will miss Thursday's rematch. The 26-year-old Howden is averaging 15:10 time-on-ice and has 22 points (16G / 6A) in 47 games.

Brett Howden
Gostisbehere (personal) will play against the Blue Jackets on Thursday.

Gostisbehere was not at the Hurricanes' morning skate on Thursday, attending to personal matters, but is ready to play in the evening against the Columbus Blue Jackets. The 31-year-old Gostisbehere continues to quarterback the top powerplay unit in Carolina and has 28 points (6G / 22A) in 40 games this season. That said, his productivity has dipped significantly, with only three points (0G / 3A) in his last 12 games after being nearly a point-per-game player with 25 points (6G / 19A) in his previous 27.

Shayne Gostisbehere
Sanderson (lower-body) is not on the ice for warmups and is not expected to play in Boston on Thursday.

Sanderson was a surprise scratch on Thursday, with the team not announcing his injury prior to warmups. We should expect to receive an update on his status ahead of Ottawa's game against the Maple Leafs on Saturday.

Jake Sanderson
Markstrom is expected to miss an extended amount of time with a knee sprain.

Kevin Weekes noted that Markstrom's status for the Four Nations tournament could be in jeopardy, indicating that it is likely a multi-week injury at the very least. Markstrom suffered the injury in Wednesday's game against Boston and was unable to return. Jake Allen should see the majority of the starts for the Devils in Markstrom's absence.

Jacob Markstrom
Sillinger (upper-body) will remain out vs. Carolina on Thursday after originally being a game-time decision.

Sillinger was a surprise scratch before Wednesday's game against the Toronto Maple Leafs and will remain out of the lineup on Thursday against the Carolina Hurricanes. The 21-year-old Sillinger is averaging 17:40 time-on-ice and has 23 points (7G / 16A) in 45 games this season.

Cole Sillinger
Swayman (upper-body) is questionable to be available for Thursday's game vs. Ottawa.

Swayman allowed four goals on 29 shots (.862 SV%) in last night's 5-1 loss to the New Jersey Devils and might be unavailable for tonight's game against the Ottawa Senators. Boston has recalled goaltender Michael DiPietro from the Providence Bruins (AHL) for precautionary reasons.

Jeremy Swayman
Wood (upper-body) will travel and is expected to return on Colorado's upcoming road trip.

Wood has not played since November 27th, missing 26 games due to an upper-body injury, but appears to be nearing a return to the lineup. Before his injury, the 29-year-old Wood was averaging 12:02 time-on-ice and had three points (2G / 1A) in 16 games this season.
