The Sabres have reportedly placed two high-dollar veterans on waivers, with forward Ales Kotalik and defenseman Shaone Morrisonn going on the wire, according to TSN's Bob McKenzie.

Kotalik should clear waivers, as he did last season. The right wing scored four goals and six points in 26 games with the Calgary Flames last season. Despite scoring 20 goals three times in his career, the 32-year-old has struggled to stick with any NHL team.

According to TSN, the Coyotes placed defenseman Garrett Stafford, forward Alexandre Bolduc, and forward Mathieu Beaudoin on waivers. As reported Thursday, the three were assigned to the Portland Pirates Training camp.

So does forward Chad Kolarik, who played four games for the Rangers last season and also played two previous NHL games with the Blue Jackets.

The 25-year-old scored 21 goals and 41 points between the Springfield Falcons and Connecticut Whale of the AHL last season. He could be one of the first callups for the team but likely will hold no fantasy value.

Valentenko needs to clear waivers in order to be assigned to the Whale.

Considering he failed to impress in training camp, the Rangers likely get the Russian defender through waivers. Valentenko scored five goals and 17 poiints through 79 games with the Connecticut Whale last season. He should be called up at some point this season.
