Mrazek will start next Wednesday vs. the Oilers.

Mrazek allowed three goals on 40 shots in the Red Wings’ 4-1 loss in Montreal on Saturday. Mrazek has faced 43.5 shots per game in his first two starts, something the Red Wings will need to work on moving forward. He draws a nice matchup tonight as he takes on an Edmonton team who is 22nd in the NHL in scoring (2.00 G/PG).

Mrazek will start on Saturday vs. the Canadiens.

Mrazek made 44 saves on 47 shots in the Red Wings 4-3 win over the Hurricanes last Saturday. Jimmy Howard has started three of the Red Wings first four games, but Mrazek will get the next two. The young netminder will need to bring his A-game tonight as he is expected to go head-to-head with Carey Price, who has yet to lose a game this season.

Stalock will make his season debut this weekend.

Martin Jones has had an incredible start to the season, but he will get a night off during the Sharks’ back-to-back on Friday and Saturday. Stalock will start either Friday vs. New Jersey or Saturday vs. the Islanders, but head coach Pete DeBoer has not decided which one yet. I would expect it to be Friday vs. the lesser opponent in the Devils.

Alex Stalock
Gudas will make his Flyers’ debut on Monday.

Gudas missed 51 games a season ago after undergoing knee surgery and now 225 days after being acquired from Tampa Bay, Gudas will finally make his Flyers debut. Gudas is a rugged defenseman, who Flyers fans should love as long as he can stay in the lineup. He isn’t really known for his offence having registered just 32 points (7G / 25A) in 126 games in his career.

Mrazek will start on Saturday in Carolina.

Mrazek was fantastic after being recalled from Grand Rapids last season positioned a 16-9-2 record, a 2.38 GAA and .918 SV%. Those splits earned him the nod in the postseason where he nearly led the Red Wings to a first round upset of the Tampa Bay Lightning. Mrazek will battle Jimmy Howard for starts this season, but will need a good performance tonight after Howard shutout the Maple Leafs last night.

Silfverberg (upper-body) skated on his own on Tuesday; cleared to practice on Wednesday.

Silfverberg did not practice on Tuesday, but did skate on his own. He has been cleared for practice and should be able to get into the season opener since the Ducks don’t play until Saturday. He is currently skating on a line with Ryan Kesler and Andrew Cogliano.

Mrazek will start between the pipes in Game 7.

Mrazek surrendered four goals on 27 shots in the Red Wings 5-2 loss to the Lightning in Game 6. Detroit’s defence did not play well in front of Mrazek and if it weren’t for him the game would have been out of hand early. Tonight he will look to push the Red Wings into the second round, but he will be missing Niklas Kronwall (suspended) and Marek Zidlicky (concussion) in front of him.

Mrazek will start in goal for Game 6.

Mrazek stopped all 28 shots that he faced to earn his second shutout of the series in the Red Wings 4-0 win in Game 5. Mrazek has posted the fourth best GAA (1.91) and fifth ranked SV% (.937) in the playoffs. Mrazek will look to finish the Lightning off at home—he has a 1.48 GAA and .941 SV% in two starts at Joe Louis Arena.

Mrazek will be in goal again on Saturday.

Mrazek had another shutout going late in Game 4, but the Lightning pushed two passed him in the final six minutes and another in Overtime. He has a 2.43 GAA and .922 SV% in the first four games of the series and will need to turn in another huge performance tonight.

Trouba suffered a broken hand in the first round vs. Anaheim.

Had the Winnipeg Jets advanced into the second round of the playoffs, Trouba might not have been in the lineup. The team revealed on Friday that the defenceman broke a bone in his left hand in Game 2.Trouba, who is set to undergo surgery, told reporters he could only use two fingers on his left hand after Game 2.

Mrazek gets the nod for Game 4.

Mrazek stopped all 22 shots that he faced in the Red Wings 3-0 shutout win over the Lightning in Game 3. Mrazek struggled in Game 2, but bounced back with his first career playoff shutout. He will look to put together another great outing and give the Red Wings a 3-1 series lead heading back to Tampa Bay.

Mrazek will start Game 3 on Tuesday.

Mrazek was yanked after allowing four goals on 18 shots in two periods in the Red Wings 5-1 loss in Game 2. The series now shifts back to Detroit where Mrazek was 5-4-2 with a 2.15 GAA and .922 SV% this season. The Red Wings have struggled in front of Mrazek so far and will need to improve on home ice on Tuesday.

Petr Mrazek
Mrazek will start in Game 2 on Saturday.

Mrazek was outstanding in his playoff debut. The Lightning dominated the Red Wings, but Mrazek was able to steal game 1 by stopping 44 of 46 shots. The Red Wings will look to have a better effort in game 2, but it would be hard for Mrazek to top his first NHL postseason start.

Sustr (upper-body) will play in Game 1.

Sustr missed the last six games of the regular season, but will be available for game 1 versus Detroit. Sustr, who is a giant at 6-foot-8, will be paired with Victor Hedman, who stands in at 6-foot-6. The two towers will likely play a ton of minutes against Pavel Datsyuk and Henrik Zetterberg. Sustr had no goals, but 13 assists in 72 games with the Lightning this season.

Andrej Sustr
Killorn (undisclosed) will play in game 1.

Killorn missed the final three games of the regular season, but will play in Game 1 vs. Detroit. Killorn will skate on the top line with Steven Stamkos and Ryan Callahan as well as play on the second power-play unit. He had 15 goals and 23 assists (38 points) in 71 games this season.
