Ladd (knee) is expected to miss the 2022-23 season.

Ladd failed his physical and will start the season on IR. Ladd has had three surgeries on his knee and has only appeared in 81 NHL games over the past four seasons. As per the conditions of the trade that sent him to Arizona, the Coyotes will get a conditional third-round pick in 2023 due to Ladd's injury.

The Coyotes have signed Lukáš Klok to a one-year, two-way deal.

Klok comes over from the KHL, where he had 31 points (5G / 26A) in 44 games with Nizhnekamsk Neftekhimik. There's not a ton of depth on the left-side of the Coyotes' blueline but he will likely start the season in the AHL and have to work his way up the depth chart.

The Flames have recalled Adam Ruzicka from Stockton (AHL).

With Sean Monahan landing on LTIR over the weekend, the Flames have some new-found cap space. They used the room to recall Ruzicka and Juuuso Valimaki from the AHL. Ruzicka has nine points (5G / 4A) in 23 NHL games and 19 points (11G / 8A) in 16 AHL games this season.

The Coyotes have acquired Bryan Little and Nathan Smith from the Jets for a fourth-round draft pick.

Little is on LTIR and has two years left with a $5.291M AAV cap hit. The move doesn't change anything for the Jets this season but provides them some cap flexibility for the next two seasons. For the Coyotes, it will help them stay cap compliant down the road.

Ruzicka will be back in the Flames lineup on Monday.

Ruzicka has been a healthy scratch for the last four games but will draw back into the lineup vs. Edmonton. The Flames shuffled up most of their lines on Monday, leaving Ruzicka on the third line with Andrew Mangiapane and Tyler Toffoli on his wings. Ruzicka has scored four goals with three assists (seven points) in 19 games this season.
