Korpisalo is coming off the busiest season of his career, which saw him appear in 39 games (18-14-4) where he posted a 2.87 GAA and .914 SV% between the Columbus Blue Jackets and Los Angeles Kings. Despite being outperformed by Anton Forsberg in the preseason, Korpisalo still performed extremely well in two games (1-1-0), recording a 2.02 GAA and .934 SV% along with a shutout. The two Ottawa goaltenders will likely both see their fair share of action this season but at least to start, Korpisalo gets the priority in the season-opener. The Hurricanes will be without star winger Andrei Svechnikov to start the season. Despite ending the season with the second-best record (52-21-9), the Hurricanes were only mid-pack in terms of goal scoring, ranking 15th with an average of 3.20 goals scored per game. The Czech legend returned to the Bruins in 2022-23 after a year-long hiatus which allowed him to surpass the coveted 1000-game mark with the Bruins. He joins his teammate of 16 seasons in Patrice Bergeron in retirement this off-season leaving Boston with a few glaring holes down the middle of their lineup.

Swayman was 24-6-4 with a 2.27 GAA (4th in NHL) and .920 SV% (4th in NHL) with Boston in 2022-23 and has been awarded a one-year, $3,475,000 extension by an arbitrator. The 24-year-old goaltender was the Bruins' 2017 fourth-round pick (111th overall) and has an incredibly impressive career 54-23-7 record, 2.24 GAA and .920 SV%.

Bergeron will go down as one of the Bruins' all time greats after spending 19 seasons in Boston and collecting 427 goals, 1040 points and a +289 +/- throughout his 1294 game NHL career. the 28-year-old two-way specialist was originally a 2003 second-round draft pick (45th overall) by Boston and gave the Bruins' 170 career playoff games (128 Pts) to add to his illustrious career resume.

Dipietro was 19-9-0 with a .918 SV% and 2.61 GAA in 29 games with the Maine Mariners (ECHL) and has signed a one-year, two-way contract worth $775,000 with Boston. The 24-year-old netminder was dealt to Boston in October 2022 for Jack Studnicka and has posted a 0-2-0 career NHL record with a 5.25 GAA and .771 SV% in a short three game showing across three seasons from 2018-2022.

Wahlstrom had seven goals, nine assists, 70 SOG, 32 PIMs and a +5 plus/minus through 35 games with the New York Islanders in 2022-23 and has signed a one-year, $874,125 contract extension. The 23-year-old right-winger was the Islanders first-round pick in 2018 (11th overall) and missed majority of last season due to a knee injury. He has 32 goals and 61 points in 161 games played across four NHL seasons.

Jeannot had six goals, 12 assists, 107 SOG, 107 PIMs and a -7 plus/minus through 76 games with both Tampa Bay and Nashville in 2022-23 and has signed a two-year, $5.33 million contract extension ($2,665,000 AAV extension with the Lightning. The 26-year-old undrafted left-winger was acquired at the Trade Deadline by Tampa Bay for Cal Foote, a conditional first-round pick in the 2025 NHL Draft, a second-round pick in the 2024 NHL Draft, and a third-, fourth- and fifth-round pick in the 2023 NHL Draft.

Lauko split the 2022-23 season between the NHL and AHL, tallying seven points (4G / 3A) in 23 NHL games. Given some of the holes in the Bruins roster, Lauko will have a shot to make the team out of training camp this season.

The 25-year-old left-winger was a former first-round pick (25th overall) in 2016 and has one career goal in 13 games played across two NHL seasons. He should provide a solid depth piece for Colorado after posting 19 goals and 35 points in 63 games with Texas (AHL) in 2021-22 as well.

Toporowski was an undrafted free agent out of the WHL, who had 29 points (15G / 14A) in 47 games with the Providence Bruins (AHL) in 2022-23. Expect the 22-year-old to remain in Providence to start the 2023-24 season.
