Shaw has missed the last eight games with a concussion and will miss No.9 on Tuesday as he stays back in Montreal while the team travels to Nashville. He’s obviously expected to miss a 10th straight game on Wednesday as well.
Bertuzzi has been sidelined since November 26th, but recently resumed skating and will return to Grand Rapids to get some playing time. Bertuzzi has six points (3G / 3A) in 10 games with the Griffins this season.
Dickinson, 21, made his NHL debut on December 8th and has 14 points (4G / 10A) in 19 games with Texas this season. Expect him to draw into the lineup on Tuesday with Antoine Roussel on IR.
Murphy missed the last three games with an upper-body injury, but will replace Michael Stone in the lineup this afternoon. Murphy has four assists in 26 games this season.
Sanford, 22, registered just one assist in 19 games with the Capitals this season, but picked up seven points (4G / 3A) in six games with Hershey after being sent down. He returns to the Capitals and could draw into the lineup tonight vs. the Canadiens.
Foligno missed both of the Blue Jackets’ games over the weekend because of an illness, but he was back on the ice this afternoon and should be back in the lineup on Tuesday. Foligno has had a great season to date, having scored 10 goals with 12 assists (22 points) in 24 games.
Foligno is day-to-day with an illness and it will keep him out of the Blue Jackets' game tonight vs. the Red Wings. With Foligno out, Sam Gagner might get a look on the top line and Oliver Bjorkstrand is expected to draw into the lineup.
Dickinson played 10:08 with the Stars on Thursday, but with Jiri Hudler set to return on Saturday, Dickinson will return to AHL where he’s had a very strong first quarter.
Khudobin allowed one goal on 30 shots in the Bruins win vs. the Hurricanes last Thursday. It was Khudobin’s first win of the season and he now has a 2.75 GAA and .902 SV% in four games. Tonight he will give Tuukka Rask a night off as he faces an Avalanche team that has lost six straight games entering tonight.
Athanasiou has been out since November 10th, but will be back in vs. Columbus on Friday. Athanasiou has blazing speed and good hands, but has been limited to just 12:06 TOI/GM in 13 games this season. In limited playing time, Athanasiou has collected four goals and one assist.
Dickinson, 21, was a first round pick (29th overall) in 2013 and has appeared in just one career NHL game. Dickinson has played well with Texas, picking up four goals and six assists (10 points) in 13 games with Texas this season.
Robinson, 25, has picked up three goals and four assists (seven points) in 18 games with Binghamton this season. The 6-foot-6, 232 lbs. forward has one goal and one assist in three career NHL games.
The Red Wings moved Bertuzzi to IR this morning and he told reporters, while sporting a walking boot, that he will miss 3-5 weeks with a high ankle sprain. With Bertuzzi out, the Red Wings recalled Tomas Jurco from Grand Rapids (AHL).
Bertuzzi had to be helped off of the ice during the Red Wings’ overtime loss to the Canadiens on Saturday. Bertuzzi’s injury will force him to miss at least one week, so they’ve placed him on IR. Tomas Jurco has been recalled from Grand Rapids (AHL) to take Bertuzzi’s spot on the roster.
