Bertuzzi failed to record a point while averaging 9:58 TOI in three games with the Red Wings during his call-up. Athanasiou will miss 1-2 weeks with a sprained knee.

Athanasiou was hurt in the Red Wings’ win vs. the Canucks on Thursday. Athanasiou, who had arguable his best game as a Red Wing on Tuesday, will miss the next 1-2 weeks, which means he will likely land on IR and another prospect will be recalled from Grand Rapids (AHL).

The Red Wings have recalled Tyler Bertuzzi from Grand Rapids (AHL).

Bertuzzi, 21, was a second round pick in 2013 (58th overall) and is expected to make his NHL debut this week. Bertuzzi had an excellent preseason and training camp and has since added four points (2G / 2A) in nine games with Grand Rapids. He should bring some much needed energy to a Red Wings team that has lost five in a row.

Khudobin is expected to miss three weeks with an upper-body injury.

The Bruins were already without Tuukka Rask due to a minor injury and now Khudobin will miss approximately three weeks with an upper-body injury that he suffered in practice on Monday. With Rask and Khudobin out, Malcolm Subban and Zane McIntyre will serve as the Bruins’ goaltending duo.

Khudobin left Monday’s practice with an undisclosed injury.

The Bruins are already without Tuukka Rask, so an injury to Khudobin would leave the Bruins with a goaltending tandem of Malcolm Subban and Zane McIntyre. Head coach Claude Julien did not have an update on Khudobin’s status, so there’s no word on who will be available or who will start on Tuesday.

Khudobin starts for the Bruins with Tuukka Rask out.

Khudobin allowed four goals on 24 shots in the Bruins’ loss in Toronto last Saturday. He started that night because Tuukka Rask was banged up and that will be the case again tonight. Montreal has won three of their first four games and they’re always a tough team to beat when Carey Price is in goal.

Khudobin leads the Bruins onto the ice for warmups.

Despite morning skate reports that Tuukka Rask would start tonight vs. the Maple Leafs, Khudobin led the Bruins onto the ice for warmups and will get the start vs. Toronto. Head coach Claude Julien said he did not want Khudobin sitting for too long. Khudobin was 3-3-0 with a 2.69 GAA and .909 SV% in seven starts and two relief appearances with the Ducks last season before being sent to the AHL.
