Forberg stopped 21 of 22 shots (.955 SV%) in a sensational relief appearance his previous time out as he took the no-contest vs. the New York Islanders. The 30-year-old has struggled this season in a tandem with Cam Talbot, posting an 8-10-2 record, 3.30 GAA and .901 SV%. He will face the Toronto Maple Leafs Friday, who have won four of their last five games and are ninth in the NHL in goals per game (3.39).
The Canucks have signed Andrei Kuzmenko to a two-year contract extension worth $5.5M AAV.
Kuzmenko signed a one-year deal with the Canucks in the offseason after seven season in the KHL. In his first season in North America, Kuzmenko has scored 21 goals with 22 assists (43 points) in 47 games, playing primarily on a line with Elias Pettersson.

Turcotte has five goals, seven assists, 12 PIMs and a +6 plus/minus through 19 games with Ontario (AHL) and has been recalled to Los Angeles for the first time this season. The 21-year-old has played in eight career NHL games prior to this season, but has yet to collect a point.
