


Armia is dealing with an upper-body injury and will not be available for Tuesday's game vs. New Jersey. Juraj Slafkovský has served his two-game suspension and will draw back into the Canadiens lineup to replace Armia.




Kuemper finds himself in the midst of a four-game losing streak after stopping 24 of 27 shots (.889 SV%) in a 4-1 loss to Pittsburgh his last time out. Although he holds a 4-6-1 record, he has been solid between the pipes for the injured Capitals as proven by his .916 SV% and 2.47 GAA. He faces the Tampa Bay Lightning who have won two of their last three contests but grade out fairly evenly offensively across the league as they are 13th in GF/GP (3.23) and 17th in SOG/GP (31.2).

Brown took a hit from behind in Tuesday's game which led to him leaving the ice after just 5:55 TOI. The 2016 1st round pick (11th overall) has failed to pick up a point through five games so far this season while posting a -2 plus/minus rating.

Forsberg allowed five goals on 19 shots (.737 SV%) as he picked up his fourth straight loss dropping a 5-4 contest to Vegas. He has fought the puck so far in 2022-23, posting a 3-6-0 record with a 3.59 GAA and .898 SV%. He draws the tough task of taking on the New Jersey Devils who rank fourth in the NHL in goals per game (3.62) and 2nd in SOG per game (37.6).

Kuemper stopped 23 of 26 shots (.885 SV%) to pick up his second straight loss his last time out vs. Arizona. The 32-year-old has been solid since signing a big contract in the offseason, recording a .919 SV% and 2.42 GAA to go along with a 4-5-1 record. He faces a Pittsburgh Penguins team that is in the middle of a downfall at the moment, losing seven straight while only scoring more than three times once during the span.



Edmundson will make his 2022-23 debut after missing the first part of the season due to a back injury. The seven-year veteran played 24 games in 2021-22, scoring three goals and three assists while collecting 35 PIMs.

Cam Talbot returns to the bench Thursday but will only back up Forsberg who has posted a 3-5-0 record with a 3.18 GAA and .909 SV%. He draws the tough task of taking on Vegas who leads the NHL in wins, points and least amount of goals allowed per game (1.73).

He has enjoyed a solid start to his Washington tenure, posting a .919 SV% and 2.48 GAA to go along with his 4-3-0 record. He faces Carolina who is coming off a 4-3 overtime win over Florida and averages the sixth most amount of shots per game (36.4).
