Tatar was traded to Seattle in exchange for a 2024 fifth-round draft pick. Tatar's time in Colorado lasted just 27 games, where he scored one goal and added eight assists while playing just over 11 minutes a night.
Markstrom has missed the Flames previous five games due to a fluke hand injury which occurred in practice but was showing some positive signs of returning after practicing Wednesday with the Calgary Wranglers (AHL). The 33-year-old veteran netminder is expected to return in a "handful of days" according to Salim Valji. He has struggled so far in 2023-24 prior to his injury, with his 6-8-2 record, 2.94 GAA and .896 SV%.
Haula missed the Devils' previous game due to an upper-body injury but will return Wednesday vs. Boston after only a one-game absence. The 32-year-old left-winger is having one of the most productive offensive seasons of his career with seven goals, 13 points, 20 PIMs and 40 SOG through 21 games prior to the injury.
DeSimone will play in Vegas on Tuesday, marking his first appearance since November 20th. He has no goals and four assists in eight games this season.
DeSimone has been recalled from the Calgary Wranglers of the AHL as Chris Tanev will be unavailable to play due to an undisclosed injury. DeSimone has played eight games this season, averaging 12:50 time-on-ice, tallying four points (0G / 4A), six blocks, and six hits.
Pesce did not practice on Monday and will be a game-time decision Tuesday against the Ottawa Senators. Pesce has only two points (1G / 1A) in 19 games this season but has been a steadying presence on the blueline for the Hurricanes, averaging 20:15 time-on-ice and blocking 38 shots.
MacDermid will sit on Monday after playing in each of the Avs' last three games. He has two goals and no assists in eight games this season.
Daws has yet to play a game at any level in the 2023-24 campaign, but has finally been activated and will begin his season with the Utica Comets of the AHL. Last season with the Comets, Daws posted a 2.70 GAA and .904 SV% in 33 games (16-14-3). The 22-year-old netminder is no stranger to the NHL either, playing 25 games (10-11-1) with the Devils as a rookie, posting a 3.11 GAA and .893 SV%. Depending on how he fares with the Comets, Daws could be an option at the NHL level at some point this season, especially if the goaltending tandem of Vitek Vanecek and Akira Schmid continues to falter.
Bastian has a goal, two assists, 26 SOG, four PIMs and a -9 plus/minus through 22 games played but will be the odd man out of the lineup Thursday vs. Seattle. The 26-year-old right-winger will be replaced due to Brendan Smith's return from a two-game suspension.
Markstrom will be out week-to-week with a fractured finger, an injury sustained after taking a puck to his hand at practice on Monday. Dustin Wolf has been recalled from the Calgary Wranglers of the AHL in the interim, which could be an opportunity for the promising youngster to get a deeper look at the NHL level as he battles it out for starts with Dan Vladar.
Haula has missed the last three games with a lower-body injury but is expected to return to the Devils' lineup on Tuesday. Haula has 12 points (6G / 6A) through 18 games this season and is expected to jump onto the top line alongside Jack Hughes and Tyler Toffoli.
The Flames had a scary moment at practice when Markstrom left the ice with a hand injury, leaving his availability for Tuesday's game against the Minnesota Wild uncertain. Makrstrom has allowed three or more goals in each of his last five games, posting a subpar .874 SV%, but has still salvaged a record of 2-21 during the stretch. If Markstrom is not able to play, expect Dan Vladar to occupy the crease.
