Hamilton (lower-body) is out on Friday vs. Winnipeg and is still being evaluated.

The Devils have acquired Brian Dumoulin from the Ducks for Herman Traff and a 2025 conditional 2nd Round Pick.

Dumoulin will add some defensive depth and Stanley Cup pedigree to the Devils blueline. The 33-year-old defenseman averaged 19:48 time-on-ice and scored 16 points (2G / 14A) through 61 games with the Ducks this season.

Hughes underwent shoulder surgery on Wednesday and will be placed on LTIR.

The Devils received terrible news on Wednesday, announcing that Hughes will miss the remainder of the 2024-25 season after undergoing shoulder surgery. The 23-year-old Hughes suffered the injury on Sunday after an awkward collision with Jack Hughes that sent him into the boards. Hughes ends the season with 70 points (27G / 43A) in 62 games and is expected to make a full recovery before training camp for next season.

Hamilton was limited to only 5:15 time-on-ice in Tuesday's 4-3 loss to the Dallas Stars, exiting the contest in the first period due to a lower-body injury. Hamilton has 40 points (9G / 31A) in 63 games, including 15 points on the powerplay. After Hamilton left the game on Tuesday, Luke Hughes occupied his spot on New Jersey's top powerplay unit.
