Murray is in the starter's crease at the Penguins morning skate.

Murray was outstanding on Monday, stopping 50 of the 51 shots that the Flyers threw at him in a 4-1 win. Dating back to his mid-December return to the crease, Murray has gone 12-4-0 with a 2.18 GAA, .935 SV% and two shutouts. He is a must-start against an Oilers team that has lost seven of their last eight.

Grubauer will start Tuesday vs. the Blue Jackets.

Grubauer allowed five goals on 28 shots in Colorado’s loss to Minnesota on January 23rd. Since mid-December, Grubauer has gone 1-4-0 with a 4.12 GAA and .862 SV% in his last seven starts. Grubauer was great in Washington but has not had the same success in Colorado but has a nice matchup vs. a Blue Jackets team that has lost five in a row.

Murray allowed three goals on 33 shots in the Penguins loss in Toronto on Saturday. The Penguins are riding Murray like a clear-cut No.1 and tonight he makes his 26th start of the season and second vs. the Hurricanes. Murray stopped all 39 shots that he faced in a 3-0 shutout win in his first start vs. Carolina (Dec.22).

Murray surrendered just two goals on 35 shots in the Penguins win over the Lightning on Wednesday. Murray continues to play very well, finishing January at 6-2-0 with a 2.62 GAA, .917 SV% and one shutout. Murray is also 1-1-0 with a 2.57 GAA, .928 SV% and one shutout in two games vs. the Maple Leafs this season.

Murray allowed six goals on 32 shots in the Penguins loss to New Jersey on Monday. It was a rare loss for Murray, who has been lights out since returning from injury. Tonight he draws a brutal matchup vs. the NHL’s top team—Murray allowed four goals on 26 shots in a 4-3 loss in his first start vs. the Lightning (Nov.15).

The Stars have acquired Jamie Oleksiak from the Penguins for a 2019 fourth-round draft pick.

The Penguins acquired Oleksiak from the Stars last season for the very same fourth-round pick that the Stars just sent back to them. It was essentially an 83-game loan, where Oleksiak had eight goals and 17 assists (25 points). The move frees up $2.1375M in cap space for the Penguins.

Grubauer will start Wednesday vs. the Wild.

Grubauer gave up six goals on 20 shots in Winnipeg back on January 8th. Semyon Varlamov had an extended run in Colorado’s crease but Grubauer will get a shot at the Wild on Wednesday. The 27-year-old has gone 4-2-1 with a 2.94 GAA and .894 SV% at the Pepsi Center this season.

Murray stopped 36 of 37 shots in the Penguins win over the Panthers on Tuesday. Murray can’t be beat right now. Since returning from his injury, Murray has gone 7-0-0 with a 1.00 GAA, .970 SV% and two shutouts in seven games. Over the course of the season, Murray has gone 7-0-1 with a 1.78 GAA, .948 SV% and two shutouts on the road.
