Derek Forbort (undisclosed) has been placed on the Long-Term Injured Reserve.

Forbort would first be eligible to return on December 31st when the Bruins visit the Detroit Red Wings as the veteran defenceman nurses an undisclosed injury. Forbort has primarily played this season skating alongside Kevin Shattenkirk. Mason Lohrei has been recalled from the Providence Bruins of the AHL in the interim.

Akito Hirose has been reassigned to Abbotsford (AHL).

Hirose last played on November 18th but has since served as a healthy scratch, prompting his reassignment to the Abbotsford Canucks of the AHL. In a corresponding move, the Canucks have recalled veteran defenceman Matt Irwin, who has yet to play at the NHL level this season but has eight points (0G / 8A) in 12 games with Abbotsford.

Linus Karlsson has been recalled from Abbotsford (AHL).

Karlsson made his NHL debut with the Canucks on November 16 and could be an option to draw back into their lineup after being recalled from Abbotsford (AHL) on Wednesday. In 17 games with Abbotsford, Karlsson has 15 points (3G / 12A) and a +5 plus/minus rating.

Demko will start against the Ducks on Tuesday.

Demko will return to the crease on Tuesday when the Canucks welcome the Anaheim Ducks to Vancouver. Demko has been slightly inconsistent over the past several weeks (4-3-0), following up each victory with a sub.-900 SV% loss. Demko, a California native, will look to record consecutive victories for the first time in three weeks as the Canucks are sizeable -265 home favourites against a Ducks team that has lost six straight (0-6-0) and been held to fewer than three goals in all but one of those contests.

The 30-year-old left-winger has been enjoying his most productive career season to date with his three goals, five assists, 30 SOG, 13 PIMs and +5 plus/minus in 22 games this season.

Mark Friedman will be a healthy scratch Tuesday vs. Anaheim.

Friedman played the last four games four the Canucks but will be a healthy scratch on Tuesday, allowing Cole McWard to make his season debut. Friedman most recently played alongside Tyler Myers on the team's second defensive pair and has one point (0G / 1A) in 17 games this season.
