In somewhat of a surprise move, the Minnesota Wild has placed center Eric Nystrom on waivers. Nystrom has until Friday at 11:00 a.m. to clear, and if he does, he’ll be assigned to the Houston Aeros of the AHL.

MTL claims Blair Betts on waivers from PHI.

Betts should provide the team with a solid fourth line center after the team decided not to re-sign Jeff Halpern. Last season he scored five goals and 12 points through 75 games with the Flyers. Don't expect much more from the PK specialist.

#Canucks pro scouts thought Weise was an "upgrade" on Oreskovich according to Vigneault.
