Mason Lohrei has been recalled by Providence (AHL).

Lohrei was Boston's 2020 second-round pick (58th overall) and earned his first career call-up Friday from Providence (AHL) after putting up two assists, two PIMs, and a +3 plus/minus through five games in 2023-24. The 22-year-old defenseman will make his NHL debut if he finds himself in the Bruins lineup this weekend after playing in only 10 total AHL games after joining Providence from Ohio State (NCAA) at the end of his collegiate career in 2022-23.

Korpisalo will start on Long Island on Thursday.

The Senators starting goalie position looked like it was about to be overtaken by Anton Forsberg before a forgettable performance on Tuesday where he allowed five goals on 18 shots, opening the door back up for Korpisalo. Korpisalo has had an equally forgettable start to his tenure as an Ottawa Senator, sporting an ugly 3.63 GAA and .872 SV% through four games (1-2-0). Until one goalie can prove himself as the undisputed number one, the two will likely continue to rotate starts. Tonight, Korpisalo and the Senators are +113 road underdogs against a New York Islanders team that has lost three straight.

Mitchell was placed on waivers Wednesday but has been assigned to Providence (AHL) after he passed through unclaimed on Thursday. The 24-year-old had an assist, four PIMs and a +1 plus/minus in two games played with Boston this season. Mitchell was a piece of the trade which saw Taylor Hall head to Chicago in the offseason.

Oesterle, who has zero points and a -2 plus/minus rating through three games this season, is expected to be a healthy scratch on Thursday. The Michigan-born defenseman, in his first season with the Flames, will be replaced by Ilya Solovyov, who is making his NHL debut.

Jeremy Swayman will start Tuesday vs. Chicago.

Swayman stopped 32 of 34 shots (.941) for his second straight victory as he beat the Los Angeles Kings in his previous start. The 24-year-old has split starts this season but has been fantastic when called upon as he is 2-0-0 with a .943 SV% and a 2.02 GAA. He will look to keep the Bruins' perfect record intact as they take on the Chicago Blackhawks, who have lost four of their last five games and are 25th in the NHL in goals per game (2.33).

Swayman will start Saturday vs. the Predators.

Linus Ullmark started the Bruins' season opener but Swayman will go in the second game of the season on Saturday. Swayman was overshadowed by Ullmark's Vezina-winning season in 2023, but he was excellent. The 24-year-old netminder went 24-6-4 with a 2.27 GAA and .920 SV% in 37 games (33 starts). Tonight he faces a Nashville team that he posted a 28-save shutout against a season ago.
