Jost has come off of the COVID-19 reserve list but skated as a 13th forward in Friday's practice, so it's unclear whether or not he will play on Saturday.
Necas was on the ice on Friday and head coach Rod Brind'Amour said that they are "hopeful" that he will play on Saturday. Necas enjoyed a solid start to the season, scoring one goal with four assists and a plus-6 rating in eight games.
Andersen stopped 31 of 32 shots in the Maple Leafs win over the Canucks on Monday. Andersen is riding a three-game winning streak, having stopped 74 of the 79 shots (.937 SV%) that he faced. Tonight he will face the Canadiens for the second time this season, he won the first in OT but Montreal leads the NHL in goals-per-game (4.00) through their first 12 games.
Chatfield was an ugly minus-4 in the Canucks loss in Toronto on Saturday. Chatfield has struggled recently, so Olli Juolevi will replace him on Monday.
Head coach Rod Brind'Amour said that Necas is going to be "out for a little while, but I don't think it's going to be very long." It sounds like Necas will miss at least a couple of games but that the injury isn't overly serious, which is good news. Teuvo Teravainen moved up with Vincent Trocehck in Saturday's practice with Necas unavailable.
Martinook has been on the COVID-19 reserve list and has not played since January 18th. Martinook should reclaim a spot on the Hurricanes' fourth-line and comes in with one assist in three games this season.
